I played 2k hours of D1 as a 50 year old father, played all content.
got a season and a half of destiny2 before D2 was launched.
Then D2 launched, played it until most content except pve was unplayable because of the eaglebearer. Then I gave up because the raid exclusive drops made most of the other game unplayable for an average player like me and most of my friends did the same for the same reason. No fun to play against other players that are better than you and that have gear that makes the difference even bygger. So we switched back to Destiny...
and yes, I did the raid 6 times with randoms, but without mm it was too much work to get in there, and it took too long time to complete with kids and all, so I gave up...
Now, after spending 1.5k hours in destiny, I am gettlng a bit bored there too...
therefore I wonder if anything changed in D2, or is it still the same **** for us average/bad players? Is there anything in there for me?
Have you played Ghost Recon Wildlands or Breakpoint? Those games are the best PvE shooters at your own pace if you’re not into gear grinding.
I’ve recently come from that franchise and I’m really enjoying TD2 as my first foray into this genre of game. But I can’t recommend GR highly enough for any fan of shooter games.
Umm...what? How does the Eaglebearer make PVE unplayable?Originally Posted by Pa9aBazz Go to original post
The game is VERY different now. All weapons were rebalanced in the 10.0 patch. New sets. New exotics. The game is more balanced than ever in PVE. The "average" player should be able to complete all content including heroic with a little effort. Legendary maybe not since you actually have to be decently good, or have a really good team. But don't let that stop you.
Now....if you're talking about Player vs Player...then stay away. PVP is a garbage fire and is even more broken than ever.
I agree with this. I'm not familiar with the pre-TR-10.1 versions, but as it stands now the game seems one of the best balanced ones I've ever played (in PvE, anyway; I don't play PvP). I'm not really sure of the level of an "average" player, but certainly Heroic is merely a reasonable challenge for a player like me, with lots of FPS/3PS experience, relatively poor twitch-skills, but reasonably good at figuring out the gear and game mechanics and putting together a strong loadout. There are a couple of levels of difficulty below that, "Hard" and "Normal," if Heroic is a bit too much work for your taste. (I typically play with my open world set just to Hard so as to keep things fairly releaxed when I'm just wandering about.)Originally Posted by Sircowdog1 Go to original post
As with any game, the key is to enjoy the good bits and try to work around any bits that annoy you. The good bits here are very good, and almost all of the material that annoys me can be worked around or avoided.
The New to the Division... Some questions... thread may have some useful information on the details of the current game mechanics, though if you've played before you may already know much of this.
62 year old grandfather here. Probably a little boring for most as we've played an embarrassing amount of time with it perfecting our skill builds and really, how many times can you go through Camp White Oak, Manning Zoo and Capitol Hill and NY. Waiting on this next manhunt character to unlock. I've perfected my skills as a solo player and have had no desire to team up for raids or messed with the black zones (I probably could of gotten my Masters degree and half way to a PHd with the time spent on TD) I'm sure many have jumped on the Outriders bandwagon since it's new and nothing else out there which is sad considering next-gen were just released a few months back. Speaking of the Outriders. I think I'll pass. TD2 stands out as a unique game that I love. Even if I move on to another game, it'll still be one of my all time favs and I'll come back to it or hopefully see TD3 in another couple years.
I've been playing this game for almost a month now, much better than TD2.
