...honestly, what do you expect? I think it is nine that we are receiving new stuff from time to time and I agree with the OP that the content drop was nice.
Of course, they could do better, and I'd prefer if they would try to create paid DLCs with proper content which are worth the money instead of updates dropping in from time to time, combined with strange ideas about how to draw money out of player's pockets aka motorpass.
The initial updates I regarded as IVTs admission that the game was just in the alpha stage when it was released, so they had to add missing parts after release. This process is mostly finished (still lacking e.g. race track editor and bug fixing), so now a nice DLC with interesting, well-balanced content would be nice.
From the observations about what was fixed and which bugs still persist, I strongly assume that there are nearly no real programmers anymore in the TC2 team at IVT, it rather consists of people doing modeling or taking the engine parameters. Therefore I would not assume that we get any enhancements that require serious programming effort.
But coming back to the OP's topic: The new content was nice, and even the colors in the midnight run summit were interesting.
There is a massive difference between what I expect from IVT and what I want.
I expect more shiny turds of updates alongside more "incentives" to waste real money.
I want many other things. TC2 may be almost feature complete but almost every feature or system we already have is in a dire need for a serious rework.
i think the main prob with Ubi (as the luci- handlers) over IVT
is
that they think they have to focus on the 5 to 18y old player demografic
while they're biggest player demografic is 20; no 25 probably even 30y and up
in other words= trying to be underage is Not good for business
I think it is much younger than that, as they can not even keep this game dry.Originally Posted by Lunytrickz Go to original post![]()
In that case, I misunderstood, but surely my point still applies. Adding a mood does not a new event make any more than a wide bodykit does a new car.Originally Posted by DT-MadManCK Go to original post
By all means enjoy the "new" content, but they hardly deserve praise for it.
@Lunytrickz- Yep , 100 percent right. That is why i jumped ship awhile ago. TC2 has so much more in it but the Devs need to stop , put their mouse down open their minds and ears and take this game where all ages want it to be. Stuff that has been clearly posted here time and time again by many age groups. I never hated the game i just got tired of so many things that wasn't needed or felt like made for kids being the main and only focus. If this game got a major graphics over haul and many of the things being asked for here man it would be unstoppable. Look what happen with Sonic when they listen to the fans and changed it . So it does work.
Working for Motorflix production company in a racing game about motorsport is silly. Every update after Inner Drive was a letdown for me. New races pre-Summer in Hollywood were great in my opinion. Ever since Summer in Hollywood, these new events were based on movie references that were restricted to a certain vehicle with terrible filters. Some of the mooded film reference events like Wild Wild West, Miami Ride, and Electric City to name a few were awful. Then they added a Burnout 3: Takedown rip off road rage mode and Stuntman series. Besides the new vehicles, none of these updates including movie theme and television set events interested me. Come on Ivory Tower, add some actual races in other disciplines that needs attention. So many unused circuit tracks, off-road tracks, etc. I will always keep low expectation whenever they announce a new update.
