I should clarify that my preference for "All Around" builds is within the scope of discussions about raw performance. Such as "what's the best exotic to own" as the title of the thread states.

I actually really enjoy niche builds, especially when they offer a new way of playing the game. I simply draw a strong distinction between "fun to use" and "effective to use".

I'm just here for the fun to use [tis why I play video games these days - though I'm guilty of scratching my min/max itch too]. Anything can be made effective in this game - doubly so when just faffing about on Challenging because there is no reward for jacking up the sponge on Heroic or Legendary anymore.

On topic: upon more reflection, I'm having trouble deciding between Scorpio, Pestilence, and Eagle Bearer. Though hard to recommend the Eagle Bearer, due to Raid [though it is my personal favorite].

Both Scorpio & Pestilence do something that the rest of the Exotics don't - help defeat enemies with more than just bullet damage. Pestilence is probably best for folks who prefer the safety of cover, while Scorpio is best for folks comfortable getting aggressive?
