    Shield Damage Taken

Quick question - shields take health damage, yeah? So DtH is better than DtA, specifically hitting a shield with a gun? Thanks!

    Yes

But in PVP any shields take 5 times increased damage, so difference between Damage to health and Damage to armor/out of cover became irrelevant.

I'm just thinking about mixing dta, dth, and dttooc all together since I've already got contractor's and fox's.

Are you planning to play PvE or PvP?

For the PvE side of the game I personally do not use the Contractor's Gloves very often anymore. Only on one LMG-build. Because DTA isn't that valuable for me as it only affects veterans, elites, and named enemies – and only if they do have an armor bar.

NPCs with a shield, enemies with breakable armor plates instead of an armor bar next to their health bar (like the BT chungus), BT dogs and tanks, all the red bar enemies, enemies' skills like turrets or drones, weak points... all of them do not have armor in the context of DTA.

So let's for example look at a pretty widely used build incorporating an AR and a rifle or shotgun, three pieces of Providence (including the named chest and backpack) plus one piece Grupo for the extra CHD, the Fox's Prayer and the Contractor's gloves. Replacing the Contractor's gloves with Walker gloves would change your stats like this:

You'd lose the Petrov brand bonus for the LMG-damage (which you don't need in this build) and of course the 8% DTA. Let's say both pairs of gloves would also have CHC rolled to them – so that stat stays the same. Now the Walker gloves would give you 5% weapon damage as the Brand bonus and 12% CHD.

So you are basically trading 8% DTA with 5% AWD plus 12% CHD. And keep in mind that with AWD and CHD you increase your damage output against all enemies – in comparison to DTA.

I'm not saying that the Contractor's gloves are a bad decision in general, but although they are being used in a lot DPS-build guides on YouTube, they are not necessarily the one-and-only choice.

It's for a dedicated PvP build. Have the long range down, it's for the LD rushers w/ shields while I'm in cover. What I'm thinking is The Apartment - or a MPX w/ Optimist - with DtH, along with DtA & DTTOOC from the gloves & knee pads. Just experimenting with trying to get more multiplicative dmg against the shield. No shield players are cake.
