I don't know why I started to write my issues here and I apologize to Mike for textjacking his post![]()
Knowing full well the capacity of my rig, I never attempt to go higher than Medium-High, I have never attempted Ultra nor Very high, more so because my monitor is 1080p 60Hz so why push it. And the only reason why I added 8 more GBs of Ram is because the game was eating up all my regular RAM and not touching the VRAM on the GPU.
Now, I must admit that I get a lot less lag or freezes/locks when I play at evening/night than when I do in the morning, regardless of whether is Sunday or Monday. And in the last session with Co-Op was even more horrible and I am on a 300Mbit fiber connection.
Also, and I know my system is old, I am not denying that part of the problem but, why is it that I can play CoD MW19 that also requires online connectivity in Campaign and Warzone and not freeze to death like I do in BP. In a 1 hour session my system had 1 or 2 hiccups at most. So, if this is a server issue, shouldn't Ubi care more since they already charged money for their game? or just because they are hemorrhaging money is ok to let the customer suffer. Again, just general questions
The in game text was also ptting Asterisk on the words hook-up so who knows what this thing does.
Sounds like an issue I had awhile ago right after the update... I encountered a bunch of things that have since subsided- for the most part.
When was the last time you verified the game files? Tried rolling back to an older video driver? I’m still seeing more glitches since that last patch than I had in well over a hundred hours of play before... but yeah other than those two things I can’t think of what else I would try off the top of my head.
Texture quality settings are something different than resolution settings.Originally Posted by FCacGRdvWD Go to original post
Texture quality is how detailed your graphics card outputs textures to the monitor, which will have no problem outputting in low, medium, high, very high or ultra on a 1080p resolution @60Hz.
Here too, these are two different things. And the only reason why I added 8 more GBs of Ram is because the game was eating up all my regular RAM and not touching the VRAM on the GPU.
Main memory is used by the operating system and programs running on it.
Video memory is used by specific programs to store texture files, in 256MB chunks. This depends on the texture quality settings from above. Low texture quality uses less video RAM than ultra quality settings do. And while it's possible that running the game's executable with higher quality textures will increase the amount of main memory that this program uses, it doesn't mean that increasing your main memory will allow for more memory to be used by the game's executable.
How many people in the neighborhood are also using that connection? Are you in a housing block where everyone in the block uses the same connection? Do you get 300Mbit when you run a test bench like https://www.speedtest.net/? (I noticed my ISP increased my speed as well, now also have 300Mbit/30Mbit)Now, I must admit that I get a lot less lag or freezes/locks when I play at evening/night than when I do in the morning, regardless of whether is Sunday or Monday. And in the last session with Co-Op was even more horrible and I am on a 300Mbit fiber connection.
And are you connected directly to that high speed connection, or are you not counting (in house) wifi, or a slower cable connection to the router? How fast is your wifi setup (usually on older hardware no more than 150Mbit)? What type of cabling do you have between the computer and the router? 100Mbit LAN connection or gigabit? Are all connections in the LAN the same speed, other devices, switches, bridges? If anything can't go faster than 100Mbit, the whole LAN will drop to 100Mbit.
I'm on a single family hub and even though the main hub/switch is a few houses away, we do not share our connection like on apartment complexes, or condos (at least that how this was sold out to us) but the again, we also believed the trailer from the breakpoint game was going to be similar to the gameplay of the game so... yeah!
This is what I got just now from the speedtest, which by the way, I trust them as far as I can throw them because I have been told that the server is the closest one to me and used solely for this type of purposes. Network and IT are not my strong suit even if I can build my own rig and make it last 7 years
Wired connections in my house are all running Cat 6 and my PC is about a foot from the main Modem/Router box. My lan port is capable of 10/100/1000 but then again, we are going back to 2010~2013 when the board was made. All switches are also High Speed 10/100/1000 but I am not one that can know where they have past a test for it or not.

Having Speedtest measure 370 up and down means your LAN is more than that (so 1000Mbit). If your LAN were at a lower speed, Speedtest wouldn't be able to go past that. Now measure it at the time(s) you have the problems.
Another thing to look out for is to see what your computer is doing at the times of the slowdowns. When your CPU is loaded to the max, things built into the motherboard will take a hit as they can't use the CPU at that time. Which means things like the built-in network controller will be waiting for the CPU and only connect when it can. A workaround here is to use a dedicated network interface card, as these have their own processors.
getting back to this instead of some stupid freakin network/pc trouble shootingOriginally Posted by MikeWeeks Go to original post(kidding, I sympathize- still trying to figure out why mine runs so hot when it shouldn't, my spouse hates the fan noise)
I was in Villa verde driving over towards the SB base and a Unidad patrol drives by and spots me. I floor it and we begin a high speed chase through town and I deliberately drive through the SB neighborhood and sure enough now there is a 3 way firefight. I keep the pedal to the medal and now it is mainly just Unidad and SB fighting while I try to figure out how to approach the area again and figure out who is winning that fight. This game is so much freakin better.
We have definitely become masochist or insane, I don't know if there is difference really. I was doing some class challenges last night (Kill 8 enemies with HDG w/o missing a shot in Golem's Island [Mike, that base we kept screwing up by going loud by mistake with Jord and then just you & I]), I kept trying and trying and the thing wasn't registering any of my shots, and there were few that I was even head shooting so there was no way that I missed them. Then what I did was go to the next Class Challenge and this time was in Golem Island No Mans Land and it took me 1 try and the challenge was completed.
My problem is that I did do Wildlands to death (by my standards) and a Role Player I am not, even though doing some Co-Op I am learning a bit still, I can't make myself go back to WL except to recreate the Massacre's that Jord and Mike have but my system won't allow it so there is no pleasure in doing them and then showing you guys 3 cars when you guys have 100![]()
But I do believe that doing short bursts in BP and then playing something else is where the magic of having fun is, you know... Sour and Sweet![]()
