416 is back today.

Bought it and the MK18, guess we'll see what I end up preferring..

Only had about 15 minutes, so I tested out the MK18 - hits like a truck, I liked it.

Concerned the 416 isn't much of an upgrade over the Bren.. let's hope the infamously unreliable chart is wrong..

The MK18 is wicked; my only issue with it is the 30-round mag. The HK 416 lets me use a 50-round mag, seems to hit pretty hard, and has almost no recoil (and what little there is really easy to control)...though that MK18 is indeed fantastic if you don't mind the semi-limited mag capacity.

The 30 round mag was the sole reason I hesitated on buying it. The higher stopping power seems to offset the smaller mag in limited testing.

I'm hoping the the 416 turns out to be a lower recoil Bren.. guess I'll find out later today..

Let me know how it works out for you. Bought the RB6 pack just to get the rifle, but some of the other goodies in the pack are nice too (skull balaclava, etc.). As for the rifle...for me it was instant love. Definitely going to use it go-forward. It doesn't really have any downsides.

I like it, but I think I like the MK18 more .. next test is ~250m shots..

I haven't bought the MK18 yet. I really had to grit my teeth to shell out the $10 for the Rainbow Six pack to get the 416, but I made myself feel better by wearing the skull balaclava to bed. The part of me that wants to "have all the good stuff" is whispering in my ear telling me to buy the MK18 too "just to have it".

I definitely hemmed and hawed over it. Don't regret buying the MK18, even though I think it should have been $5 and come with some cosmetics [custom skin + a tattoo + face paint + mask or hat or eyewear]. If I had paid full price for the game, I probably wouldn't have purchased anything unless I found myself still playing post story completion.

I feel like I may regret buying the 416 though. Though I did rock the Shemagh clearing Koani, and likely will try to find a way to rock the facemask too. I also like Cav, but I simply wish I could put her face paint on my toon instead.

Not being critical, but do those of you talking about buying the Mk18 know it's the single item that drops from the loot crates that's actually worth getting? If you do the dailies you'll rack up crates (and credits to buy crates) which is how I got mine. Perhaps not helpful for those who have already shelled out cash, but might help someone thinking about it.

haven't been doing those but may start as I want the M16 for my Marines.
