Players armor bar so big, how can I get more armor

I have low armor bars compared to some players, my shd watch level is 260 but I've seen players with lower watch levels with twice as many armor segments , how have they achieved this ???.

They stacked armor as a core stat instead of weapon damage or skill tiers.

    This.

It's a situational prioritization WRT balancing. So, as Des inferred, because they invested more into blue (armor) cores, they will have less output in weapon damage and skill power. These typically divert enemy fire, allowing the more vulnerable red (esp.) and yellow damage cores to put more rounds on targets.

So its all about a good team set up, but changing ones build as mission progresses, ie on the boat in Roosevelt Island, everyone would switch build to dps, where as just before jumping over wall max skills build for turrets and seeker mines

Yes. That becomes increasingly apparent with respective increases in difficulty. LT Williams, the third boss in the furnace of the Iron Horse raid, and the most difficult content in the game to complete, is predicated on a coordinated team effort. Communication and planning is essential.

Loadout (pre-mapped build) changes in-mission, as you mentioned, typically occur immediately prior to and for the upcoming phase, and require an 'out-of-combat' status (no threats on your mini-map). Minor changes to builds (manually swapping items in your inventory) are also quite common, and can be done under 'in-combat' status. This is done to increase the rate of progression and minimize risk to the team.

First and foremost, success in higher difficulties is an exercise in judgment. Let's take your final phase in Legendary Roosevelt Island example. There are a number of ways to skin this cat. Less capable teams (some permutation of nonoptimally equipped, uncoordinated, and lacking effective communication) should take the lengthy, lower risk approach you mentioned to compensate. Everyone throws skills (emphasis on skill damage) on or over the wall, completely clears the first wave, then switches to DPS (perhaps one healer), bee lines for the dock, boards the ship, and subsequently uses it both as cover from the two quad-copters and as a choke point for the subsequent waves. More capable teams (optimized, coordinated, and commed up) will take a more aggressive approach and will complete the final phase in one-quarter of the time. They will run all DPS builds (perhaps one healer), hop the wall, take immediate cover in a 2 x 2 pattern, suppress the first wave while focusing on the two quad-copters, and upon their destruction, advance upon and clear the subsequent waves, all in a single action.

A lot of players don't use armor except for Legendary Raids and PVP or a shield build . Its a little overrated in the game for regular play up to heroic a lot of players dropped the armor in favor of DPS or skills without any real negative results the more experienced you are the less you need armor.

I did finally get the named holster with 500% melee damage look forward to testing it out in the next event

Armor? Here's a build with a "little bit" of armor:

1 piece Guila Guard for 5% total armor. Usually mask with Armor, crit chance and crit damage

2 pieces Badger Tough- for 10% shotgun damage and another 5% total armor. Chest: Zero F's for perfectly unbreakable, with Armor, crit chance, Armor regen as attributes, and crit damage as a mod.

Holster: Belstone for 1% armor regen with Armor, Armor regen, and Crit chance for attributes.

Backpack: Badger Tuff with Armor, crit chance, and Crit damage for attributes and Adrenaline rush for the talent.

Gloves: Ceska NBC gloves for 10% Crit chance with Armor, Crit damage and Crit chance for attributes.

Kneepads: Murakami Industries Emperor's Guard ( Dark Zone only drop, unless you can get them from Named Caches) With Armor, 1% Armor regen (comes with kneepads), and Crit chance or damage if you can get those attributes on them.

Scorpio shotgun as main and Military M870 as secondary, with Backup Boomstick or double-barreled shotgun as your sidearm.

I like to use a Crusader shield for emergencies, and the Banshee pulse (Need Gunner specialization) as skills.

Now you have 2 million armor, 646.7K base damage on Scorpio ( higher if you can get 15% shotgun damage- mine currently has only 8.3%), and 1 million base damage on the Military M870 (secondary weapon with 15% shotgun damage).

Have fun!!!! Now you can run around like a madman and survive!! Credit goes to " I am Fox" on Youtube. He really has some amazing builds!!!
