Should Immersive Mode Get Rid Of Classes Entirely?

There seems to be a general dislike for classes entirely and their “exclusive” items. Should a new mode be dawned from Year 2 addressing this let’s say a “Ghost Mode” with complete freedom of class Item selection and “Special Abilities” being chosen as perks and Class Symbols only addressing player “assigned roles”. What do you guys think about Year 2 bringing a new mode entirely or even opening up a more player friendly experience.

Problem is the Classes were poor in the Challenges, with most having nothing to do with the Class itself. There were no real benefits in doing them neither. For instance any class level 20 does not have any difference to level 1?
same as Clothing offers no more protection from plated vest to a t-shirt!
I have no problem with the Classes, but they do need to be done for benefits to the player.

Classes are good. And there are a few small benefits earned between lvl 1 and 10. I main Panther and Medic, depending on if I'm in a team or solo, and the differences are pretty distinct, especially when you combine the benefits with actual perks. You can have pretty distinct feeling builds.

I play on Immersive mode with a few personal tweaks, and I definitely want classes to stay.

I do agree that the later challenges and rewards really have nothing to do with the class they're attached to though, and the benefits are mostly cosmetic...and limited at that because you can't change colours on the ones I've seen. Even if they were only cosmetic, at least make them worth it...new hair styles / beards, tattoos, etc. would be way cooler than a shirt with permanent red sleeves.

Instead of removing i think adding more and fixing the existing one would be better.. I made a thread about the engineer class, to be useful it should have the power to hack remotely enemy drones especially the small ones and you should be able to control the class drone, assault class should give more boosts to ASR and a new class should be built around Ghosts.. like we have Echelon class, but we’re not Sam Fisher, so we should have a ghost class with ghost abilities

I'm in favor of removing classes as it has been implemented in this game. No "magic" abilities are needed. They apparently were put in place as a means to be used in co-op; players would choose one of the classes as part of a team, given there were no AI teammates originally. Classes make no sense for solo play imo that is suppose to be Ghost Recon - unless Ubisoft decides to do away with solo play for the franchise.

I wouldn't be surprised if the reason there are classes in the first place was due to how Ubisoft decided to structure Ghost War (pvp) in Wildlands, and simply decided to continue that approach into Breakpoint for the pve experience - especially since pve and pvp experience(s) are tied to each other (however that works - I don't do pvp.so not well informed on how that link takes place).

I've switched all my character slots to Pathfinder - as it's the only "class" to allow for the simple black/white contrast vision when I use NVGs. It's the only one utilized as I no longer even select the other vision "skills" with the most recent created slot.

    My two cents.

I HATE CLASSES! They should get rid of them entirely. Your role should be defined by what weapon you rock. Wanna be stealth? Equip a smg with a silencer, some nifty cqc gadgets and roll out. Wanna be a sniper? Pick up your dmr, some long range items and roll out. Classes are for the birds! While we're at it get rid of unlimited ammo, unlimited health, and any other magical super power.

To me, class bring nothing to the table.

It's immersion's breaking. Because I'm a "panther" (what kind of name is that) I walk faster than my teammates WTF.... The class system came along all the failure of gamedesign Breakpoint ends up to carry yet again like a cursed bruden. That included and is not limited to Gear Score, Perk, magical powers and abilities, levels...

I mean, we have class in PVE because for some reason, PVP needed classes to be attractive and competitive (like R6, copy/paste). UBISOFT had this brilliant idea to mix both PVE and PVP progression, but had to included limitation for balance purpose. So they wanted something they were unable to achieve and we ended up with an half-backed solution that few but nobody like.

For a narrative point of view, it's a nonsense, form a immersive point of veiw, it's a nonsense as well. Ghost are trained soldier, they can fulfil any role their missions ask them. From recon to long range sniping and CQB.

In Wildlands, we didn't have classes and it was pretty fine. Grab your DMR, your sniper, suit up a (hooded) ghillie and "voilà" you are a sniper.

Sonar view, night vision, thermal, white thermal... those filters should have been tied to specific optics the player must have equipped his character with in order to use it.

I hope that, gaz grenade, cloaking spray and all this magical stuff will be out for the next GR and / or there will be an option to turn it off.

I don't like classes... at all...

I never understood why people dislike classes in Breakpoint. You can use almost any gear and weapon, regardless of who you are. The bonuses and passives each class gives barely seem to effect gameplay, even if you play normally. The only purpose classes serve is their abilities, which can be ignored.

I would prefer if there was an ability to unequip a class. The way the classes are done in Breakpoint is just downright unfit for Ghost Recon
