I find it boring, while leaving me feeling weak because my pew-pew power is diminished

But I guess it can feel like a power fantasy, once everything runs around melting. Certainly feels like a Power Fantasy when I'm ROFLstomping Hard with my DPS builds - but there is always the risk of death if you make a large enough mistake, at any level [which is why I like this game]

the idea of making the game stupid hard just to keep players coming back is getting tiring real quick and its dumb.
Okay, lets walk through this a bit. First, welcome to the Division 2. I am glad you decided to experience this game. It has a lot of good parts, like amazing build diversity and gameplay, and a few bad, like server-client disasters and at times buggy AI that causes some really strange phenomenon.

I am assuming when you said the highest difficulty, you meant legendary. Legendary missions are extremely difficult and I would honestly recommend that a person do almost everything else in the game besides possibly the raids before even thinking of taking them on. I take a few calls for back up every once in a while and absolutely dread when the call says "Story" difficulty and it turns out to be a low level/poor geared player wanting to do a legendary.

I personally don't find Legendary Missions to be that fun, to be honest. The NPC's in those missions absolutely can and will wreck your day. They are supposed to.

So at this point, you need to prepare yourself and your gear for legendary missions.

Steps to take to actually join and complete a legendary without being a complete burden to your team:

    1) Work to complete regular missions solo on the hardest difficulty that you can take. I would recommend starting with Normal and scaling up to heroic for almost all missions. Get a feel of what you can accomplish and what you can't. Also, no Heroic is not the new "normal" no matter what people say. Most experienced players develop a type of blindspot in thinking that just because they can do something with a properly created build that almost anyone can. That is a total lie.

    2. Once you have found your difficulty for missions, set your open world to that difficulty. This should help you to get a feel of the world and start you on the next part of your endgame: completing your recalibration library and getting blueprints for your crafting bench. People like to bash crafting, but often RNG in this game is a very cold and fickle mistress. Being able to make what you need over just relying on luck can save you a lot of time. Also blueprints are needed to craft the most powerful weapon mods in the game. There are daily and weekly challenges. A number of those offer blueprints. Once you are capable of doing challenging or heroic control points, you can get blueprints every time you clear one. Don't be afraid to call for backup when doing a heroic control point. Lots of people like to answer those calls over a likely failed legendary. Take advantage of that. Also when items drop with a good or god roll on one attribute, think about dropping those into your recalibration library. That allows you to further build up resources to create perfect gear when you don't have it readily on hand. 2 other ways to get stronger are to concentrate on your Specialization and Watch Points.

To simplify focus on the following activities:
    - Misssions and Invaded Missions for loot and bonus points to specializations
    - Completing Side quests for additional blueprints, exp, and SHD points to unlock skills
    - Daily and Weekly Projects
    - Bounties
    - League Events and Global Events
    - Control Points for Blueprints
    - Targeted loot in Summit/Open World or Missions for specific builds
    - Complete the Field Research for the more advanced Specializations
    - Leveling up additional characters for more storage space and experimentation
    - Joining a strong clan to help find capable people for legendary missions as well as raids

    3. Level up your season. The season events and levels can grant you pretty strong gear. Not everything will be perfect, but often the items you get this way are of a higher level than what you would normally find farming in low levels. Also once you complete the season levels, you start getting Field Proficiency Caches. Those automatically drop heroic level loot. A great way to build up your inventory and recalibration library. Also the weekly SHD Resource Quest gives you a named item and an Exotic. Those can really bump up your inventory.

    4. Start researching strong builds. There are lots of YouTube Clickbaiters. Still some have some decent builds. I can give you the following builds to help you as a starter.

    Learner Red DPS:
    - 3 pc Providence, 1 pc Fenris, 1 pc Ceska, 1 pc Grupo. Have everything rolled Crit Chance and Crit Damage as much as possible. Run with AR's and possibly a Rifle or Lmg. Try to get your crit chance first up to 60% but not above. 60% is the max for crit chance and anymore is a waste. Everything else dump into crit damage. (Chest talent Obliterate, Spark, Unbreakable, Spotter with Pulse) Backpack talent (Composure or Vigilance) Specializtion (Sharpshooter, Survivalist, or Demolitionist) Also, I strongly recommend AR's to newer players because they are great midrange weapons that can often melt lower armored enemies that exist in lower difficulties. Much of this is considered a standard raid build now. If you finish and perfect this build, with only a few switches you are suddenly very raid ready.

    or

    - 4 pc Negotiators Dillemma, 1pc Ceska and 1 pc Grupo. Again have everything rolled Crit Chance and Crit Damage. Run with an AR, Rifle, and/or LMG. Note that Gear Set pieces more than 5 are pretty much a waste. You get all the gear set bonuses at 4 pieces so spread out after that. Go with the Demolitionist specialization.

    Learner Blue Tanks:
    - 4 pc True Patriot, 1 pc Bellstone Armory, 1 pc Gila Guard; Focus your rolls on Armor Regen. Pretty much with this thing, most NPC's will have an extremely hard time killing you. Get a shield and a decent pistol and go to town. Many NPC's in the open world will often even ignore you when there are more significant threats around. Survivalist or Demolitionist are best for this.

    or

    - 4 pc Foundry, 1 Tardigrade Chest or Pointman if you can find them otherwise get a Gila or Bellstone Chest with Vangaurd, Efficient, or Unbreakable on it. Ideal backpack is one that has protector. Bellstone and GIla are great brands. This tank in particular is nearly unkillable. Sadly, you won't do almost any damage tho. Still, you will survive. Builds similar to this are often used in Iron Horse. That's right, if you want to be helpful for raiding, this is a good build to have. Demolitionist Specialization until you get Firewall or Technician to use an artificer.

    Learner Yellow Skill Builds:
    - 4 pc Hard Wired with 2 pc Hana U or 2 pc Wyvern. This is a great beginner skill build. Simply use Cluster Seekers and Sticky Bombs with the Demolitionist Specialization. Roll your gear for skill damage. Jammer Pulse is great for Black Tusk forces. Try the Survivalist if you go with status effects.

    Or

    - 4 pc Rigger with 2 pc Empress. With this one simply use an AR or other weapon with InSync along with a drone and turret. Lots of NPC's will die and you will stay safe. Roll everything again with skill damage. If you want to do legendaries later on, this is a good set to get used to. A lot of people now run legendaries with builds that are almost exactly like this one...

    Or

    - 4 pc Eclipse protocol, 1 Vile Mask, 1 Wyvern. This is a very powerful status effect build. Seriously on everything below heroic, this thing can often destroy NPC's outright. SImply use the burn sticky and set a single person on fire in a crowd. Insta room clear in many cases. Everything rolled status effects. Specialization Survivalist.

    or

    - 3 pc Empress, 2 pc Hana U and one piece wyvern. Everything rolled skill damage and skill haste. Run a drone and turret or really any skill once you are feeling comfortable with them. Kinetic momentum Chest and Force Multiplier Backpack are ideal for drone turret. Using a Strategic Alignment for the backpack with a Mortar Turret and a Caesars guard for Mortar/Cluster Seekers. This build is pretty much a versatile standard for legendary missions. Weapon rolled with insync. This thing will take you a bit to assemble. Once you have it though, you will be more than strong enough for legendaries.

    ----------------------

Follow this and be patient. You are going to have to build up for all of this. You can do it though and the trip itself is very rewarding.

This wasn't meant to be witty. I have had too many people lately not prepared for legendary try it and call for backup. At some point this all needs to be spelled out and just ridiculing the OP isn't adequate anymore.

There are no content creators left to teach people. We have to do it. Period.

Brevity is now dead. At this point, we actually have to put in the effort or accept that we are the reason for our own messed up matchmaking.

I just checked them out. Rather nice to have someone actually put out an effort video that wasn't 10 minutes of stretched content.

The builds are a bit different from what I would do and the guy covers PvP which I don't even bother with in the Division 2. A good creator, though. I would almost say extremely rare, sadly.

    Nice find!

When you say 4pc & 2pc does mean any combination unless you spell out a specific piece like chest, backpack etc?

You are playing the game wrong.
Skill builds, especially turret/drone are made for people like you.
Get rigger/hard wired or 3 piece empress+2 hana u or 1 hana u and 1 vyvern and waveform, and roll your face over the keyboard through ANY heroic/legendary content:
    1. Put your turret out
    2. Send out your drone
    3. Shot something quick to get in sync procced
    4. Sit back and relax
    5. Flush& repeat

Pretty much. As strange as it sounds to at least get a solid build, a person can use the special gear set Chest and Backpack and get pretty strong results with most gear sets.

Often when people say that an items is terrible with gear set pieces, it is because there are better alternatives. Seldom does it mean that the backpack or chest are horrible in and of themselves.

When starting out and learning the gear system, it might be a strong strategy to just go with the Gear Set's Backpack and Chest until you find better alternatives yourself.

Remember though, you need 4 pieces of a set to make the sets chest and backpack work. I see a lot of people who still don't understand that. One was a guy running 3pc negotiators(backpack included) and a aces chest piece with 2 pieces of misc. They had a bad time.
