Honestly I think for me it is a good part that the BP enemies are too much of a caricature. They don't feel threatening, the whole plot as to why they are there etc is so poorly done I feel no imperative to be doing anything.. and then add to that that what I do seems to have no impact. I can't establish any means of communicating or getting off the island. Meanwhile it seems no one else has an issue coming or going. It is as if Nomad is just getting punked. Here we are looking at a year 2 and at this point I am not sure who I am fighting or why. Wildlands on the other hand I knew exactly who I was after and it was the culmination of a campaign with a slew of enemies that had backstories and I could genuinely feel a sense of accomplishing something when I took them down. In BP I killed some of the bosses without realizing they were a boss.Originally Posted by LateNiteDelight Go to original post
Unidad is threatening simply because they will eventually overrun you. Sentinel sends 4 guys in a car. Unidad.. well they don't give up. Heck Santa Blanca gets more additional reinforcements than Sentinel.
A few more hours under my belt, with a few more perks & attachments, have started to improve the gun play a little. Still prefer Breakpoints feel, but the gap is smaller. Also, the lesser graphics are starting to bother me less as I get used to them.
Solo, I'm digging the Aug as a converted DMR with the MP7 & 5.7. MDR & MK17 also work well in the role.
Co-op, where escalation is far more frequent - I'll probably stick with the HTI for the choppers. Need to start testing the Evo & P90 against some short barrel ARs.
The real star of the show is the amazing virtual Bolivia Ubi have created. BP was...i just dont have the words for it...felt like a Just Cause 4 DLC. I uninstalled it after 2 hours.
Anyway back on topic lol - get that TAR gun its so good.Get the handy medals as soon as you can for example the medal that removes the damage reduction if you use a supressor.
Also the Unidad AI can be amazingly stupid. If you see that a gun you want is in a heavily defended military base - just drive in there (do it in armored SUV). Quickly and efficiently. Do not slow down, just drive up right to where the gun or weapon accessory is, hope out. Grab it and hop back in and drive out. I have done this numerous times without a shot being fired lol. Its good fun. Does not work ALL the time of course but even when they spotted me I just kept driving.
Also try playing with all the HUD hand-holding stuff turned off (enemy tagging, grenade alert, enemy alertness level etc) makes for a very tense and fun experience without all the superpowers!
Minimal effort for maximum profits is what we are seeing at BP. They thought that just because people were asking (and wanting to pay top dollar) for custom weapons and gear in Wildlands that this meant those same people didn't care for more authentic gameplay and the results came tumbling down before and more so at launch.
Now, being said that and by looking at the updates and live content, it does not appear like they have learn the lesson in its entirety, what with the half assed attempt or intention from the introduction of teammates introduction and immersive experience. Only time will tell I guess.
It is clear that nobody is dumb enough to throw good money into burnt money but they also have to save face as a so called AAA Studio. All in all, I just got to tired of Wildland, hence, why I keep my masochist testing on BP still
Got a new rig, and after the finishing touches I may get back to Bolivia to terrorize the good people of Santa Blanca and take on Unidad as well. Personally, I like the graphics of Wildlands better, at least, I can see the enemy better with and w/o optic help.![]()
I jumped into the wildlands for a moment and shot a video of walking through the map, which i turned to a timelapse video.
It was about 2hours walk/jog from Inca Camina to Villa Verde😎
Have to say that map is empty as auroa from enemies/bases but still much more liverier.

They added some nice enhancements to your ability to kill the bad guys. Would have been nice had they been added back into the core game.
Oh possible interest - no charactersmith for your AI team and you'll not see much of the Sun either. Farr more of a gloomy environment over the weather conditions in the main campaign.
Personal opinion, it does wonders for firefights and because of the sponginess/eagle eye vision of Unidad and even SB in the vanilla game, it levels the playing field.Originally Posted by MikeWeeks Go to original post
Did not like that part so much, I am more of a day playing gamer than glomming or night.Originally Posted by MikeWeeks Go to original post
