Got Wildlands for free when I pre-order Div2 [after liking the Beta], but only played a handful of missions before jetting off to DC. During the Div2 hiatus, I've almost finished off Auroa and our crew is headed to Bolivia shortly.
Any important differences from Breakpoint [Immersive] I should be aware of? Must get weapons besides the HTI [first thing I did when playing Wildlands]? Any changes in tactics when dealing with Unidad/etc vs Wolves/etc that will make the transition smoother?
Thanks!
be prepared for a whole different experience though it seems you have already played some. For one enemies don't just randomly spawn within 100 meters. You can plan much better. Taking out convoys is harder if you want full value. Damage to the supply vehicle can cut it's value in half and shooting out a single tire is only going to cause them to speed up. Enemy helo patrols can be tracked over distance and avoided. I actually never had a must get weapon. My preferred is the p416 though I prefer the shorter barrel which is an accessory you have to go get.
Also if you want a similar experience to immersive (single weapon etc) you can go Ghost mode. Just make sure you do periodic saves as dying deletes your character.
Thanks!
I logged in to mess around and I'm getting some serious Div1 vs Div2 flashbacks. I guess Ubi went through a similar transition where they focused on "pretty" for v2. Auroa and the character models just look miles better - but the "Bolivian" world has a better atmosphere and living, breathing feel to it. It's almost like the Consoles couldn't handle keeping the world stuff, when the new shiny was dropped in. I'm happy to drop that stupid belt though [and a hoodie with the hood up!].
I'm glad I've got some co-op pals though, as I'm not a big fan of the AI teammates.
Breakpoint was a game that really justified grabbing the game's most powerful guns, abusing the mechanics and just vacuuming up the content... [Removed] robot / drone [Removed]... Raid trash... "island in lockdown" so they didn't have to put anything in it other than the occasional human NPC scarecrows that complain about you non-stop. Get in, kill everything- including the whiny civvies and get out... But doing the same in Wildlands is really just a waste of a good time.
Breakpoint is [Removed] stupid at every level. Better graphics in general, better movement mechanics... that's about all it brings to the table over Wildlands.
If you're looking for something akin to immersive or whatever they call it in the tragedy that calls itself Breakpoint- especially in coop- I'd highly recommend you go at it in Ghost Mode... perma death, single primary weapon that you can't change away from a crate... turn off the enemy "aura" glow in the minimap... turn down some of the HUD settings to really make the world stand out.
I agree that its the ambiance and atmosphere of Wildlands that separates it from so many other games. Speaking only for myself- I found I cared about the people and feel bad when I kill a civilian... I'll block traffic if I know a firefight is going to ensue and I open the roads back up when it's over...
Again- all subjective, you do you... but I know the game loses a lot of its potency when guys are just wandering around 1 shotting all the vehicles and slicing and dicing everything with their god-tier sniper rifles.
My 10 cents.
[Ubi-Toon: Removed profanities]
I use the most accurate guns, not most powerful [because headshots are all I go for - same in Wildlands]
I'm going to have issue with the Xbox360 gimped graphics, and losing the quality of life improvements - but as I said, the world seems richer and the Unidad are more of a challenge than the Wolves [plus none of the annoying drones]. I don't like the excessive bullet drop of Wildlands so far, but I think once I level things up that will mostly mitigate itself.
Also, I've only killed one Civi on Auroa, that whiny Sentinel runaway that finished spilling his guts by telling me they'd destroy me - sorry bro, bullet to the dome for you [Removed]
Finally played last night, and this game is definitely worse on most items, outside the living world stuff. Still fun and I'll continue to play it, but I find myself wishing they could upgrade the graphics, movement, vehicles, camera, and gunplay to match Breakpoint. I also tried a bit solo - still meh on AI teammates. I do like the way Unidad responds compared to the Wolves, but not the lack of deadly headshots when they're alerted. Glad there are no annoying drones or that floating belt though
Hopefully by fully leveling up I can mitigate some of the issues [only level 12 so far].
[Sorry Ubitoon, didn't realize this was a "clean" forum]
there are definitely things that BP does better..not many but some. However gunplay in BP is pretty boring simply because there is so little to do that is a real challenge. You certainly can't do anything like this eitherOriginally Posted by LateNiteDelight Go to original post

I can do firefights like that all day long. Trying to find something even remotely comparable in BP... maybe a couple of the old ww2/cold war era bases.
By gunplay, I mean the way the guns handle and fire. It's simply better in Breakpoint. There is more bounce and float in Wildlands, as well as more drop [same difference from Div1 to Div2, actually].
While I much prefer the behavior of Unidad vs the Wolves - the fact that when alerted they no longer are one shot, headshots - is dumb. I hate it. I'm hoping it's just because I'm not Level 30 yet.
You are talking about Gunfights, and you'll notice I didn't mention that - and I give that nod to Wildlands..
Edit: clarifying one of the things I like more about Wildlands
ahh yeah there is thatOriginally Posted by LateNiteDelight Go to original post![]()
