i have done it once, when it came out (lvl 30), and i tried it again (Library) today, wow what a waste of time
after 15 min i ran to the exit. i mean i just changed difficulty and got ported to the exit, was the fastest way for me to leave hehe
i think even if every mob would drop an exotic i would not do this again![]()
It does force a rather different and more frantic play style than you might use in the regular game. It definitely didn't suit my solo play style where I like to get set up at medium to long range and relax in cover rather than be constantly on the move and dealing with close-range do-or-die defense. But I found it worth grinding through for the DiamondBack, at least at World Tier 1 or 2. (I don't use the rifle any longer due to a much better talent loadout than I had back then.)
I bet that some players really enjoy that kind of battle, though.
this is true, i play mostly solo, also because in the european morning its hard to get a heroic group together, to farm some lootOriginally Posted by CategoryTheory Go to original post
i bought the DLC 12 days ago, and i thought i give it a try again (Kenly College), it takes a lot of time, if you don't know where to go
(i have done it twice so far 18 months ago), so i forgot where to go hehe
and exploding enemy bodies through grenades didn't really help haha

I went to Kenly yesterday as well to complete some of the mission collectables on my alt-chars. Being first time it went there it's on story mode but with few all maxed builds to my disposal I didn't have any problems at all. Only time I failed was when destroying the silo (metro mission) where my rifle wasn't good enough to do it within time (although constantly shooting at it). For that I had to switch to all red and M1A, completed it in half the time available, which is rather odd. I think you are best of with a shield, either the small or big one, makes you resistant (more or less immune with big one) to all the explosions from those rushers.
Would I run the mission on Heroic as someone mentioned above, probably not, but I do like the setting and building layouts. Can be hard to orient yourself but the walls also provides excellent cover. I did have fun chasing my drone that was the finding targets for me to shoot down. When I went there in past after it was releases I did have harder time with my build on level 30. It really is a shame they don't use the location for other stuff, if it would be invaded I'd go there more often, and on the higher difficulties.
Typically with items that you need to unload huge amounts of damage into, there's a minigun nearby to help out with that. (E.g., the door at the very end of Grand Washington Hotel.) I don't recall the details of the Metro mission, but I run a rifle and skill build (so not massive rifle damage output) and I don't recall any problems doing damage within a time limit. Maybe I found a minigun, or maybe I managed to set my assault turret on it.Originally Posted by echolecter Go to original post
At any rate, if an LMG isn't part of your regular build, I would think that it's handy to keep one in your inventory as something to deal these kinds of large piles of damage against objects reasonably quickly and without eating into your preferred ammo supply.
I don't mind so much having a side mission for that kind of gameplay, so that those who want it can have a bit of it (though I'd imagine that you can get something close to that in many other areas just by Leeroying in). But that kind of stuff should not be in main missions except perhaps in the tiniest quantities, and definitely not as the hardest battle. (Well, at least not in games that spend a lot of time and effort giving you situations where tactical skill can overcome weak characters and builds, not to mention lack of twitch reflexes.)
