There's a pretty big difference between the two.Originally Posted by Solkard Go to original post

That's a pretty important difference IMO.

Outriders is a PvE Looter Shooter.
PvP isn't even being considered @ this time...
I find that reviews and comparisons of games that state only a binary "trash" vs. "non-trash" opinion are neither useful nor trustworthy.Originally Posted by Licher.Rus Go to original post
I thought it was cool (note 7) because I thought it was more like Borderlands than The Division, because while The Division has that more technical, strategic mechanics, Borderlands and Outriders follow the frantic action formula, where there are moments when you don't have time to breathe and it is attacked from all sides ... I left the demo aside as soon as I entered an area full of enemies shooting at me (so far so good, it looked like The Division) but out of nowhere two thugs appeared, sponges of bullets that remained glued to me, running at an absurd speed until I killed myself ... I quit on the spot, I already got sick of this type of game.
Maybe I'll buy it in a promotion in months or maybe even years ... from what I saw so far and played it didn't convince me to be the "replacement" for The Division 2.
I was initially excited for it when it was first revealed. Oh, a new looter shooter? Sign me up.
But the more I look at gameplay, I can't help but think "why does this game have guns it?" Here I am as a non-alien, super human with the acquired ability to slow time, conjure stone pillars from the ground to impale my enemies, or even shoot fire from my hands... but I still need a gun? I'd take a simple melee RPG at that point.
I hope there isn't any ability the allows a class to summon meteors from the sky.
We can make Destiny and Warfare comparisons, but I feel as if the fantasy RPG "abilities" of those games don't overshadow their guns like how I think Outriders does, imo.
