Hi I was about to post this question in Ubisoft Support however after typing this all it told me that it's support feature is currently unavailable????
I was going to attach 3 screenshots of me trying to uninstall on Ubisoft Connect and show my Assassin's Creed games in my Program Files Installed Applications in the Settings, but I don't think I can post images here...
Hi I am trying to uninstall Assassin's Creed II so I can do a fresh install but am unable to - can you please help me?
I bought the game on Steam many years ago, and then I remember a few years later I had trouble running the game, and realised it was because I bought it on Steam and linked it to a different Ubi account.
So after speaking to a Ubisoft Rep, I decided it was best to buy the game again for this current Ubi Account I have and it was working for the time I played it a few years ago.
However, I just tried to play the game and was stuck on the Ubisoft Connect Launcher, with a spinning circle loading.
I tried verifying the files in Ubisoft Connect and it said an issue and to uninstall. So I uninstalled it on Steam, then went to uninstall it on Ubisoft Connect, hoping it would realise the files are gone, but all I get is an error telling me to re-try.
I am going to try to re install the game on Steam, however if this doesn't fix it I please need your help. I AM UNABLE TO EVEN PLAY THIS GAME.
I could find no way to delete it manually, as I could not find the game folder on my computer anywhere.
Thanks, kind regards,
Hailey
Hey haileylucrezia, thanks for getting in touch and I am sorry to hear about the issue you ran into.
Just to double-check, have you possibly tried launching the game via desktop shortcut?
To create a desktop shortcut:
• Open Ubisoft Connect launcher
• Select the Games tab.
• Locate the Assassin's Creed 2 tile.
• Right-click over the tile.
• Select Create desktop shortcut from the menu
Should you continue to experience issues, you can also consider changing compatibility of the game by right clicking > Properties > Compatibility, and selecting Windows 8.1 operating system in case if you're using Windows 10 at the time.
Keep us updated!
