    Hold this for me...

    What am I missing for this field research challenge....to kill 2 hostiles with 1 grenade 3 times...I have managed it once but I don't know how I did it and can not for the life of me manage it again although nothing in my set up has changed and I am often seeing 2 or more hostiles burn to death from 1 grenade.
    I am now resorting to all kinds of ways to achieve this (i.e holding them in place with chem launcher riot foam stuff then hitting them with a grenade or softening them up a little with pistol shots then hitting them etc)...nothing seems to work.
    I MUST be missing something totally obvious here so any tips would be appreciated guys.

    I've always had trouble with grenade kill challenges, too. For some reason enemies tend to be incredibly uncooperative when you chuck a grenade near them and they run away from it.

    Anyway, I've had some success by finding smalll groups of unaware low-level (red) enemies, sneaking up near them, and chucking a grenade in their midst; at least sometimes they haven't run far enough by the time it explodes that it hits them. Once they're aware that they're in battle they almost invariably are able to escape the frag zone unless they're occupied by something else, such as someone else shooting at them.

    If a grenade doesn't do quite enough damage to kill from full health you could try using gear, mods and specializations (if available at your level) to boost your explosive damage. For example, wearing a single piece of China Light Industries gear will give you +15% explosive damage.

    Or possibly you could drop the grenade and, between the time they start running and the grenade explodes, get in a shot or two.

    I'm open to ideas on this from anyone else, as the "Frag Out" challenge that's currenly up in Ubisoft Connect is going rather slowly for me.

    start viewpoint museum in normal or story , there is a group of 4 enemies at the start , throw nade at them , restart mission , rinse repeat.

    All good ideas and a few of them I have tried as well as doing things like waiting behind cover for red resource convoys to walk past and jumping out behind them...ambushing reds when I know what door they will spawn from near propaganda broadcasts etc etc...and all seem like they should (and do) work and as far as I can see I am fulfilling the requirements yet I still remain on 01/03...I have it tracked on screen but i'm wondering if I should be activating something else before trying.
    Again...it's probably something very simple that I am not doing or doing wrong...dunno...it's a low level field research task (number 2 on the tree I think) but I am stumped.
    EDIT - Another thing that occurred to me was maybe it was because I was using incendiary grenades instead of frag but the task just says '1 grenade'...however I tried to use frags and still no dice.

    i dont think incendiary works because that way they are dying from the status effect and not the nade itself , do what i said a couple posts ago but with a frag nade.

    Try not jumping out, but just doing cover-to-cover to get close to unaware enemies. I expect that as soon as the minimap shows the enemies as solid red (rather than dotted) they will be aware that they're in combat and more quickly leave the frag area of a grenade. (This includes guys spawning during missions and open-world events: if they're spawning the know that they're coming into combat. Though I suppose if you get the grenade out a second or two before they spawn, that might work.)

    If you're hitting them and they're just not dying, I'd try tweaking gear and specialization to boost your explosive damage, as I mentioned above. You may have a blueprint for a China Light Industries item that you can craft.

    And yeah, it won't work with incendiary grenades; you can see in the inventory that their damage is "N/A," (which obviously doesn't include the bleed damage, but that's not considered grenade damage I am pretty sure.) The only grenade other than the standard one that seems to do any direct grenade damage is the Demolitionist's Fragementation Grenade.

    EDIT - Fantastic!...managed to chalk another one up using a Frag Grenade before I CTD...using incendiary is obviously what I was doing wrong...to be fair though it doesn't state 'frag' in the job description...just grenade...and incendiary is the default for that class and I am old and senile.

    Start of Grand Washington Hotel on Story or Normal Difficulty, Riot Foam, Grenade. That's how I do Grenade Challenges. Trying to do these challenges on Heroic are next to impossible...

    The frag grenade does the most damage, though incindiary is more fun.

    A couple of other things to add:
    1 piece China Light (+10% explosive dmg)
    2 piece Grupo (+15% explosive dmg)
    Mad Bomber talent on chest - allows grenades to be "cooked".

    the incendiary works too but only if you kill them with the initial blast , which is hard to do , if they dont die from that they die from a status effect that is burn in this case , and that counts as a status effect kill.
