As for hit rating 60 out of 75 shots...yeah. Check your end-of mission report that shows hit percentage. If you tell me that you can regularly land 80% over the course of a mission with something that has a rotten bullet spread like the Chameleon.... then you're a MUCH better shot than most people using that...or any....build. I think between 50-60% is probably more accurate number for most players.

And again, the point is not to "Write off" the chameleon, or say that it isn't a good weapon in the hands of the right player. It's just to put it in the proper context instead of letting youtube highlight videos misrepresent its actual effectiveness compared to other weapons.

If you feel like you want to sink the time to get really good at using the Chameleon by changing the way you play to maintain the buffs, and you can actually do it....then yeah. Go for it! It'll likely serve you well. But otherwise there are plenty of other good builds that can compete with it with a similar amount of time sunk into practicing with it.
As a console player, I average around 45% accuracy (high 30's / low 60's). I agree that "hitting your target" is the biggest issue with this gun. It's great on paper, but doggie doo doo on the feild. Seems like a great thing till you use it.

Turret/Drone envelopes an entire group or room at a time. I don't know how to describe it. You can grapple the whole encounter at once.
I play mostly open world, HF lets me fight the random patrols on the street without having to find a spot to hide and set up the turret before engaging, which was quite frustrating.

Also, now that we can pick up the turret it's easier to have a dynamic fight even with T&D.

Build for the exotic, not just auto assume the item is going to carry itself.

I have some great fun using it with true patriot all re-rolled to wep damage and chc/chd, plus memento and sacrifice, running gunner and pulse+drone. chame`s body shot buff gives me the wep damage i cant get from the gear.
Are the better options to do this? naturaly, but it aint fun to run minmax all the time.

Have you watched the video I made about using purples with a T/D build to prove a point? There's no real hiding with a full build. You run up to the cover nearest the enemy, doubly tap to deploy the turret, pop the drone and start firing. And if you want to be a little sloppy, you can throw the turret ahead of you to start things off(although that usually results in a less effective turret over the course of the entire fight).

It's not nearly as instant as a HF build that just starts shooting, but it's pretty quick. And if you need to move, you just hold the deploy button to pick up the turret and take off.
