As we all know within the depths of the DZ's and probably conflict there is a cheat/hacking problem (or should i say perceived problem) and it seems to me and others that nothing gets done or we know little of what gets done to them and their accounts.
Which is where this little bit of info comes from.
Outriders and the devs (People can fly) they have put up a list of actions they are taking and implementing within their game (even though its a P v E only game) List follows
Repercussions are account wide not character wide
You will NOT be able to matchmake with Legit players
Matchmaking will take significantly longer
You will be able to play Solo
In future your HUD will have a discreet but visible watermark placed on it, so gameplay footage on this account can be readily identified as coming from a cheaters/flagged account.
All accounts will be checked for evidence of cheat usage on launch day and there after at regular intervals.
Any account logs that have evidence of cheating on them or on/after launch day will be permanently branded.
If you cheated during the DEMO and wish to play the full game.(you must DELETE ALL CHARACTERS AND ITEMS from the ENTIRE ACCOUNT) in order to wipe the slate clean.
You should not carry over anything from the demo if you plan to play the full game and plan not to cheat in the main game.
So if a Division 3 comes to fruition Would you like to see some of these or this type of anti cheat actions taken against those who were found to cheat/hack.?
An anti cheat/hack etc was promised for the div2 at launch. It turns out to be nonsense and doeant stop them. They've done nothing to rectify it or the leaderboards for example which are a pretty sure fire way of locating some. Known cheats from td1 have noved over to td2 now theyve found nothing will be done. Unfortunately now any promises made about this anti cheat etc being on td3 will fall on death ears.
Td2 pvp was abandoned a long time ago abd they dont really seem to give a monkeys about it. They will bring out a tinsy bit of pap content near rhe end of year, satisfy nobody and the game as a whole, promised alot, delivered minimal and ultimately has been quite a disappointment. Hopefully something will come out soon to compete with it as until then they'll keep pumping out substandard mediocre content without a care for the player base.
Dont expect them to do anything about it, they never have and never will. The only time they did anything about an exploit is one they left open in the game for people to do...
To be Honest i can't argue with any of this.Originally Posted by HonestlyOK1986 Go to original post
But on that list i put down would you like to see any of them implemented into a Division 3 if there is one.
Those are suggested consequences. But problem is enforcement.
AntiCheat is a losing battle. Players reporting and assigning staff to investigate case by case is like using a cup to stop your ship flooding. The rate of cheat increase is higher than rate of dealing with it. It is also a man power involved than is non profitable, so they're almost glad is it dominantly a PvE game. Look at Battlefield 5 if you own it and their forum - It is a train wreck of cheating. I stopped playing it on PC.
They need more automated solutions that cannot be disputed. For example.
1. Stealth detection of consistent mouse acceleration when snapping to targets. Snap time is consistent value.
2. If all rounds of a magazine hit same location on target consistently without miss several times over.
3. Reverse the role. Buy all the cheats they can to understand how they work and counter them with stealth patches to block use.
Cheaters can bypass hardware ID, IP, free email address etc to play the game again after a ban.
They need 2FA with SMS verification. Required for login AND everytime you login to play. Get banned then it will be more hassle to register another mobile SIM again and again at cost. It is a number that has to be maintained to use everytime to login as well.
Any attempt to create new accounts associated with mobile number that was banned blocked too.
The question is are/would Ubisoft/Massive be willing to do that, judging by the last 5 years with this franchise (i'm not sure they would)Originally Posted by qapnugget Go to original post
But as i put the list as is from another, would you like to see any of those put into a Div 3 .
I quite like the Won't be able to matchmake with Legit players.
You are right they won't. It would involve additional cost to them to maintain and a cost they can't pass onto the customer. Even if people quit the game they just need enough leftover to match make with new players. The players boycotting will be small minority. Majority will leave at some point when another game captures their attention.Originally Posted by Cadillac-Jack Go to original post
COD Warzone forced enabled 2FA. However cheaters started buying VoIP numbers for SMS to voice. Since then they have done nothing further. Even if they just bought new SIM card it is so cheap.
Imagine if the game had a licence key associated that gets banned as well. Then they would have to rebuy the game.
In the end the cheats are monthly subscription and not cheap, so little costs above to continue playing won't affect them. Seriously for all cheaters could know the software might even use some GPU cycles whilst playing games for mining. If that hit the news I wonder if people would still be willing to cheat.
What is sad is that people have invested into a great gaming PC and every online PvP game is infected by cheaters. What is even more sad is the alternative - Consoles which are appliances locked down to one digital store and one game streaming service. Consoles do have cheats like anti recoil input devices with scripts per game, but at least it is not as bad as PC.
First off the ridiculous no naming and shaming rule needs to go. If you have video proof you should be able to post it. It's just a cop out way to avoid players from exposing the volume of cheating.
Second, cheating will never stop because Ubi would have to dedicate people to control it, and that costs money. We wouldn't want the CEO to take only a $29,700,000 bonus instead of a $30,000,000 bonus this year. That would just be too much to ask.
What I would like to see is it render the actual game locked. The player would lose the entire game, all players, all progression and would have to buy the game over again on another account and start over. If this happens to a guy 2-3 times, I doubt he would keep going through the hassle. It simply takes manpower and dedication to stop it, and again that costs money to do. With corporate greed at the level it's at, I can't see that investment happening.
