I have over 240 rep in this game, I love it and I want to see it grow, over the years much has been done to improve the game. In my opinion, the games combat mechanics are in a rough spot and I think a big change is due. The change I would like to see is: more options, let me explain, too often and too easily you can get caught in a repeating 50/50 Combo, for example, a warden manages to land a top light on you, he then proceeds to begin a shoulder bash, at this point, you need to choose to dodge right away to avoid the bash, or stand your ground predicting a feint into guard break or some other attack. If you dodged, but the warden feinted, you most likely will get guard broken and receive quite a punish. If you stood your ground, and the warden goes through with his bash, you will get hit with his double light and he will be able to continue his combo. If you chose correctly, congrats, you get to punish him my problem with this, is the lack of options you have to deal with this situation, most of us players began to learn how to light parry to keep the warden from entering his combo in the first place so we don’t have to deal with the guessing game, others mastered deflects, some started to just double roll out of combat to avoid the 50/50. And each skill we chose to learn, got patched. We got punished for innovating. I think instead of continuing this cycle, the devs should add more options to the players to handle these situations. My request is a new combat ability much like “bulwark flip” in the sense that it is a direct counter to bashes. Give each hero the ability to counter a bash, and with that ability, a direct counter “perhaps the bash counter could be an animation where you slam your weapon on top of the enemy as they lower down for a bash, which would do damage and drain a small amount of stamina. And for a counter of that move, perhaps make a left thrown light at an opponent trying to counter your bash, scoop a bit lower hitting your opponents leg causing them to stumble and allow you to get a free hit in” just an idea. Please devs keep this in mind when thinking about your next move to improve the combat system, add more options to advance the for honor combat experience!
