Just chillin in afk penalty | Forums

What up guys, I have the free time to come and make this post on the forums because of an afk penalty so I figured I'd come and share how it happened.

Playing Dominion, we're up 1400 to 1000. The enemy team has 1 base, we have 2. They decide to just sit at their one base and camp on the bridge to try to cheese people off the edge. In response, I go to the front of the bridge and just sit there. Since the enemy team is opting to not play, I decided to Google if the match would be a draw or not because I've never seen a Dominion match go to timer.

Anyways, the game kicks me out without warning because I'm humoring the enemy's passive playstyle of camping. Now I can't play for 15 minutes for being afk even though I wasn't afk.

I guess my suggestion is put some sort of warning that the game is about to kick you for being afk, I would have moved my character if I had known. I hit taunt a few times but didn't seem to matter. I learned my lesson but hey, 15 minutes free because apparently you can only find out about this game's afk kick mechanic the hard way with no warning. Cheers

Yeah I think the penalty is stupid

Don't google next time during game. Simple as that.

By the way, more points wins if both teams have survivors. Both even if you have to storm their home point, you may do it with well coordinated feats. Though it is the best to leave them alone there and farm B.

More like a suggestion to add some warning about the afk kick system. I didn't press anything for like 90 seconds tops and got kicked out. That's really fast compared to most games, and I had no idea it would happen. Obviously I know now to move around a bit but a new player has no way of knowing this is going to happen to them so quickly.

You do get a warning. It pops up during the final 10 second countdown to removal and even has a countdown sound. Each second beeps at you. It has a very unique sound.

Also, emoting counts as playing, so you very obviously dud not press that button.

You can stand still and just move the camera around and you won't get booted. I've tested many times.

Also, it's less than 90 seconds.
