While I realize the game doesn’t need any more knights at the moment, I’d still like to share my idea for a new knight hero. This knight would be a hybrid (vanguard-heavy mix) called the Mercenary. While the Gryphon already is a mercenary, he also has a traveler/wanderer vibe. This hero would be a full-on mercenary.
Key visuals:
>Leather and chainmail armor with some plate armor in key areas (head, upper chest, arms, lower legs, etc.).
>Some visuals can have animal pelts.
>Some visuals can have capes.
>Any helmet-less visuals can have facial/head scars.
>Would be gender-locked to male.
>In terms of height/size, he’d be somewhere around the Black Prior or Lawbringer.
Weapon(s):
Dual wields two one-handed swords (same type as the Black Prior).
Themes/concepts:
>Being a hybrid of a vanguard and heavy, he would have the jack-of-all-trades feel of a vanguard with the tanky feel of a heavy.
>True mercenary: loyalties lie with whomever is willing to pay them more.
>Rugged/grizzled veteran.
Fighting style/moveset:
>Defensive
>Generally when dual wielding, one is going to be more defensive rather than offensive. Especially since you have a second sharp object that you have to be aware of.
>Counter attacker.

>Dishonorable/dirty tactics.
>Can have a move where he kicks or knees his opponent in the crotch, stunning them.
>Can maybe have a move where he kicks dirt into his opponent’s face.
>From a player’s perspective, this would obscure visibility.
>So it’s not overpowered, the effect would last no more than 5 seconds (2 or 3 would probably be fine).
>Would need to be something relatively simple to do, but not super spammable either.
Possible feat options:
The ones in bold are my top choices for each tier, but feel free to comment if you think another one would be better.
>Tier 1:
>Conqueror: capture control zones faster and picked up boosts last longer (passive)
>Bounty hunter: gain health and stamina when you kill another hero (passive)
>Body count: killing a soldier grants you health and stamina (passive)
>Tireless: lose stamina at a lower rate (passive)
>Rush: trigger to gain movement speed for a short duration
>Iron lungs: you can still sprint when out of stamina (passive)
>Tier 2:
>Fiat Lux: throw a flash grenade that blinds enemies for a few seconds
>Doom banner: nearby enemies have less powerful attack and defense
>Thick skin: gain moderate damage reduction (passive)
>Righteous deflection: parry to gain high damage reduction for a short time (passive)
>Winner’s advantage: gain a temporary buff after a successful attack (passive)
>Tier 3:
>Crossbow: fire a crossbow bolt for medium damage
>Throwing axe: throw an axe that deals medium damage
>Pugno mortis: throw an explosive projectile dealing damage over an area
>Boleadoras: projectile that deals low damage and traps an enemy for a short time
>Tough as nails: raises max health when unlocked (passive)
>Punch through: deal damage on blocked attacks (passive)
>Hard to kill: losing health increases your damage reduction (passive)
>Heal on block: blocking regenerates your health (passive)
>Oath breaker: remove all shields from target and temporarily prevent them from gaining any more shields
>Tier 4:
>Igneous imber: several grenades that deal moderate damage over an area
>Last laugh: drop a high damage grenade upon death unless executed (passive)
>Regenerate: regenerates your health when out of combat (passive)
>Arrow storm: aerial attack that deals medium damage in multiple areas
>Fire flask: throw a projectile creating a fire area of effect
>Dauntless: your actions can't be interrupted for a short duration
Possible perk options:
These are my top choices (with the one in bold being their default perk), but feel free to comment if you think another one would be better. Keep in mind that vanguards tend to have offensive and/or defensive perks, heavies and hybrids tend to have defensive and/or assist ones, and assassins tend to have offensive ones. However, there are some exceptions to this, such as the Tiandi, who has assist perks.
>Remedy: upon hero kill, heal +10 health
>Shields up: when revived, receive a temporary +25 health shield
>Aegis: all shields received are increased by 20%
>Endurance: when gaining a renown level, receive 3% stamina cost reduction (max 4 gains)
>Last stand: when in critical health, gain 40% damage resistance
>Bulk up: when gaining a renown level, increase maximum health by +4 (max 4 increases)
>Fresh focus: when out of stamina, counter guardbreaks, blocks, and parries regenerate 20% stamina
Signature ideas:
>Tosses a decapitated head forward.
>Repeatedly flips a knife.
Execution ideas:
>The enemy falls to their knees and the Mercenary cuts/scissors their head off (similarly to https://64.media.tumblr.com/540529e3...9bf1da120.gifv).
Other info/ideas:
>His idle stance in the hero customization menu can be him resting the left sword on his shoulder, and has the right one pointed down.
>Like the Warmonger, his voice lines would be in English because he would want others to know what he’s saying.
