Does Unidad have its own El Tio cult, false or otherwise?

Came across a random spawn I did not recognize as having ever done so previously.

What immediately caught my attention were the two on the left:

Anyone recall seeing these facial markings previously?

I have to be honest, I've not looked at the live unidad closely for a long time - but it might be that the game just mistakenly put some El Tio heads onto the Unidad soldiers.

All I have been doing is the stand-off mission on the bases you guys have told me so I have not really noticed it. Then again, I never do so I am no help.

You sure they're not burn victims?

Note to self... don't let Jord play with matches, let alone fire!

I was wondering the same. Here's what all the NPCs involved in that El Tio event had painted (except the leader, who had the mask.

Whether there are in fact different patterns I don't know, since I've also never looked that closely, until now - all because of that one random encounter the other day.

MIke, were you just exploring or doing some sort of a mission when this happened? I went in just for a while and again, I didn't see anything remotely close happening.

The El Tio event is triggered when you visit the three graves. It was a special event created following the game's release. Now it's part of the six-week daily challenges series.
