Question to damage boni/talents PvE builds

Dear gaming friends, I read that boni and talents like armor damage and elite damage are inactive in PvP, thats understood. But I am wondering the other way round. Eg, if I have a gear boni critical damage 10% or a weapon talent deadly 10%, are these inactive in PvE or do they have the same impact like 10% armor / elite damage? If not inactive, than there would be no need for an extra PvE build with respect to damage. There are of course other reasons for a separate pve build.

CHC and CHD work in both PvP and PvE. For someone that plays them both and doesn't want to swap gear, that is a good build. But, for PvE you'll be better off with DTE and EAD in the upper difficulties. I recommend 10%+ Health on Kill for PvE plus predatory or sustained. But, in a pure PvP build, those may not help depending on whether you are picking off a random player, or trying to go manhunt.

Thank you for your help! Good to know that crit chance and damage is active in pve as well. Thats what I assumed and which drove me to the question whether it makes sense to replace crit damage with armor or elite damage. If both would have the same damage rate in % it would have no impact in pve. But in the meantime I found a pve build guide in youtube that showed eg knee pads with crit damage as major attribute and additionally elite damage as minor attribute. So apparently I can put armor and elite damage on top of crit chance/damage, that should have a huge impact. Will work on a pve build at the weekend. This evening I will adjust my nomad, banshee and predshee build for pvp and hope that I have then a chance against rouges, at least in a 1:1 situation 😁. Yesterday evening I collected 9 sealed caches before I wanted to leave. Two rouges spotted me in DZ2 and chased me till DZ9 where they finally melted me. They have my lovely caches now😪😪😪😁

To reiterate above, if you want to use a single build for both PvE and PvP (not what I'd recommend) then put all your rolls possible in CHD and CHC. You may have heard the expression "jack of all trades, master of none". Trying to use a single build for both works as long as you focus on crits. But, you'd be better off having one for each purpose, rolled for it specifically.

I play strictly PvE content at challenging or above, so my builds show that. I always roll Damage to Elite on my gloves and kneepads. I always aim for as high of enemy armor damage as well. But, to keep from being a glass cannon, especially solo, that is where the health on kill helps. For resistances, I only use burn and bleed resistance and occasionally shock if I can't get the rolls I really want.

Don't forget to go to your character menu from the inventory screen. It will break it down nicely to show you were your currently equipped character stands. Note that it includes the weapon in your hand so things like CHC will change if you go from a SMG to LMG for instance. Exit the menu, change weapons to see how it changes.

I aim for this as a general rule:

35%+ Damage to Elite (mask, knees)
    35%+ Enemy Armor Damage
    5-10% Health on Kill
    ~10% Exotic damage resistance
    33% Burn resistance (knees)
    33% bleed resistance (knees)
    stability (backpack)
    Critical Hit Chance (gloves)
    Critical Hit Damage (gloves)

Depending on the build, I will roll a lot of skill power or haste for skill builds. Some other builds like Lone star for instance I'll give up CHD and opt for +12% LMG and/or shotgun damage. For the D3FNC build, since you will mostly be using SMG, I +12% it.

One last tip is somewhat counter-intuitive. Keep your eyes out for PURPLE Damage to Elite gear mods. They have a lower base stat than the yellow items, but no yellow gear mods can have DTE. The yellow gear item has a max of 267 where the purple ones are ~214. But, if you are lucky enough to find some 4% ones, it will more than make up for it on challenging and above difficulty. You can have 5 of these, so that's an extra 20% DTE. It is night and day more powerful than the yellow ones, even with lower stat. The exception to this would be if you needed to reach a certain stat level to Proc something, like 9k Stamina Pred, or striker, etc.

There's a Global Event going on now. That is the best time to gear up if you still need anything. If you don't need anything, then just buy the $3k caches with the GE creds, you'll get some div Tech from it at least.

Thanks a lot for the very helpful information! I also mostly play the pve content. The gameplay is rather simple, shooting and opening caches and full of repetition. There are better games with respect to this. But I simply love it 😀. I enjoy the looks, the settings and the feelings of the shooting. The latter is horrible in RDM2 for example. I played this game 3 times, always starting with a new character in Brooklyn and in November I first time ebtered the darkzone. I was not interested in PvP but I simply wantey to discover the map, thats what I enjoy most. The dlcs are rather disappointing for solo players, hardly playable. Which is a pitty. Because of my likings I also played TD2 inc the extension WoNY, which is great as well.
