Just recently returned to play the game some more and see if this is the time ill manage to not suck. Probably not, but its fun for a while till it gets too frustrating.
Anyway, I was checking out Gryphon and I liked how his kit works. He has some strong dodge moves, and good range..which are two things I really like in the characters I play. The problem is that it seems to be universally accepted that he is way overtuned right now.
As a not-very-good player, the last thing I want to do is get my butt kicked while playing the strongest character in the game. I mean, that is just embarrassing.
My question is.. is Gryphon so OP that im going to be exposing lack of skill if I play him? Or are people overstating how OP he is considered to be?
Besides the the dodge attack and his feats, he is fine.
He is a decent hero with some decent Armor and a very good moveset.
Just don’t try to focus to much of you playing around his side dodge attack and his feats (Mainly the crossbow) seeing how they clearly will get major nerfs.
You can kinda spot people that mainly use him because of his safe dodge attack since they use it a lot.
Expect some people to get mad when you play him.
if you do that dodge attack too much against my mains, pk and WL yes I will embarass you, hard.
If you try his full moveset I can win with my experience (if you are a beginner), but in 4vs 4 you can win over me or finish me sometimes. His feats are really useful.
Just try to not always rely on dodge attacks and his bash, experienced players from platinum to beyond will punish you. Even if the person is not that skilled try to not abuse, abusing his bash and dodge attack can grow a bad style that is hard to correct later.
Of course aginst decent players spamming it will get you killed.Originally Posted by MayanKingGaming Go to original post
Tho what I mean is that the dodge attack faces the same issue as kenseis that it can just negate any combo pressure you will apply to them.
Listen, do whatever you want, and do not restrict you because the childish community of this game put pressure on you.
I stopped playing for a month and I was quite rusty, Though I still know gryphon moveset (I play kensei right now but have a 15 rep gryphon) and I acn beat him most of the time.
He is not OP, people don't know what that mean really. There is just a vindict against him that has gotten out of hand.
His feats are broken on the other hand, but that is another issue, and warmongers are as annoying.
So play Gryphon. He is a easy to play hero with a fun kit, good customizations, not bad executions even if I hope he get new one soon.
Btw gryphon is not the strongest hero in the game, but he is definitely easier to do good with as a bad player, that's facts, but people know him now and and rarely see gryphon on top scoreboard anymore (except good gryphons, like any other)
you can always buy and play whatever you want but your concerns are going in the right direction.
He is yet again a typical autopilot hero that does the heavy lifting for the player. His dodge attack is just as disgusting as kensei's but even more so since it leads into a mix up with more damage output. Without that Gryphonwould be okayish, although he still has many real wonky attack animations that accelerate the weapon way too fast to be reasonable but hopefully that gets addressed at some point in time soon. He is quite fast and has good recoveries (hence oftentimes very safe).
Press some buttons and plenty other heroes / players run into trouble. I literally saw blindfolted people play him on youtube and having lots of success with him. Could be transfered to many other cases surely too but I guess it makes a fair point on how fluent the kit itself is in combination with strengths such as range, speed, power and diversity.
You said it : hero/playesOriginally Posted by Klingentaenz3r Go to original post
That's the player who mess up with gryphon, but he had nothing in his kit to outclass other heroes. Black prior has. Black prior is OP, if you consider that a good black prior is almost unkillable, has every move un the game and more, and can turn against you any single attack you throw at him. Any, single, one. Even bashes.
But he require (some) skills (not that much really) while gryphon piss people because he force to do reads while the person who play gryphon can play relax because of the unreactable mix up. But playing relax will just get you killed so anyway
Gryphons mix up really isn’t the problem it’s even far away from the safest in the game.Originally Posted by AbuZnood Go to original post
The issues gryphon has are his dodge attack (Same as Kensei) and his feats. (Mainly the crossbow and the fact that healing feats still remove bleed)
