For me, I am on the Switch version for the most part too. I have tried a few times on the PS4 camera with 2017, but I may have to re-evaluate that one once I am confident the room lighting is good. I have the Wii U version of the 2017 Just Dance as well for my first version. The Wii Remote was held upright for a lot of moves to make the scores while the Joy Con can be faced to more proper palm directions for some songs. Both the remotes most times don't seem to want you waving it as you raise the arm even if the coach is doing that (cough "Get Get Down"). There are some odd times like "Stop Movin'" it does want the hand vibrate. It's still a ways to go for me to try all the Unlimited songs, but I will chime in the best I can for the moment.
I agree with you Max with the Katy Perry Birthday song for the Switch being the worst one. Last I tried Birthday, it's hard to tell what it wants for me to do. Can't seem to figure out yet how fast it wants me to move the arms and the jump pose doesn't really work with me.
For "Cheerleader", I picked the guy dancer on the left and it even had troubles with the gold moves that don't really move much on the coach. I may have to try the other 3 coaches since I found a few other songs to have good and bad choices.
"American Girl" was a bit funny with the remote for the chorus. It doesn't seem to want to get the beginning part with the hands alternating up and down fast. Whatever it wants, it doesn't seem to follow the girl coach during this moment for me.
The "C'mon" song I found easier on the camera with the Panda. Usually it gives me Superstar for the remote while my best score for the camera when it functioned well for me was around 12800. The remote tended to not like my hand raise and circle motion much during the verse as well as just moving my arm to the left during the chorus. It's mostly fine for the rest.
"Nine in the Afternoon" was another song I found to have a good and "bad" choice. The girl dancer was alright for me to choose, but the guy dancer had troubles registering the chorus movements and gold moves.
