Wow - finally a god roll Chameleon

So I've done my share of complaining that Chameleon drops more than all of the other exotics put together for me, and has done so going on 18 months.

As many as I've landed in that time (over 70 by last count, but that's probably way off nowadays) all were sucky rolls that just became automatic exotic components.

Did a Heroic Black Tusk bounty and killing the last (third) guy I see my very first Chameleon that dropped as a god roll. No optimization or re-rolls required.

Maybe this is a sign I should actually try to build something around it (finally)? Anyone who likes Chameleon and uses it actually have a good build for it?

I use the chameleon all the time on my AR builds.

You can either do a crit build.
    An armour regen Memento build
A Damage to Armour build using 2 Walker harris and the contractors gloves.

Or you could build around 3 piece strikers for ROF and handling (The Chameleon will be at 1035 RPM)

Or you could mix the Damage to armour build with 3 piece strikers/

    3 piece striker
    1 x contractors gloves
2 Walker harris (chest and back pack) then choose your talents, Obliterate/Vigilance/Intimidate/Composure/Adrenaline rush.

    Or you could go

    3 strikers
    1 Walker harris
    1 Fenris
    1 Memento back pack.

To be honest you don't have to speck fully into the crit side because of the chameleon talent.

You could go down the usual routs of
    1 contractors
    1 fox's prayer
    1 fenris
    1 Ceska
    1 Groupo
    1 memento

There are lots of choices you can go through with the chameleon.

PS: it also works quite well with True Patriot.

    PPS: The choice is yours.

    My current Chameleon build is
    2 x walker
    1 contractors
    1 Fenris
    1 Groupo
    1 sawyers knee pads

    1.1 million Armour

    Obliterate and Vigilance.

Gives me 54% CHC/113% CHD, 13% Damage to Armour 20% health damage, 86 k on the Chameleon (Sawyers knee pads give and extra 30% damage from not moving) immune from explosive stagger.

Don't forget i also get an extra 20% CHC and 50% CHD on top once the talent procs and a +90% weapon damage as well.

I can also swap this around and take out the sawyers for the memento and put in another walker on the knees.instead of the back pack.

Thanks! I'll give some of those a try. I have most of the pieces listed, except Walker gloves (none currently in my inventory).

P.S. I hadn't thought of a TP build. Currently my True Patriot is a semi-survival build, with crazy high armor, Perfectly Unbreakable on chest, lots of +Incoming Repairs rolled in and a healing seeker. Because it was so tough the DPS was relatively low so I used it almost exclusively with a god roll M1A rifle (to maximize damage). This was usually my preferred for raids (not that I've done any in ages). It could be interesting to try a variation like you describe...

    With the True Patriot

    You could go
    4 TP all blue
1 Fenris with intimidate or obliterate
    Memento pack

    Banshee pulse/Striker drone.

    or
    4 TP 3 blue 1 red
    1 fenris
    Memento.

I use it with 4pc striker, Memento, Fenris (obliterate).
The philosophy is - if you are not able to build stacks, than you don't need them.
Basically, everything dies so quickly, even without stacks. Stacks are good against heavies, though.
Up to 1 million crit damage with all buffs with 1035 RPM.

    My ar build
Memento, fenris chest obliterate, one ceska if critchance is needed or groupo/ walker harris, 2 belstone and deathgrips gloves, its my ar armour on kill build.
    Rips through heroic.
Take out everything on semi distance first, then pickup the Memento trophies and take out the rest/ leader.

I also use it in my intimidate build,
Coyote mask, adrenalinerush backpack, intimidate chest, I use two Golan, two Belstone and one Fenris, I just switch the Fenris for Sokolov if i use smg.
Would switch one Belstone for the Emperors guard kneepads if i get it.
    I run Gunner or firewall.

After work today i went with
Gunner specialization, Memento backpack, Golan mask, Golan chest "hunter killer", Fenris gloves, Belstone holster and kneepads.
Everything god rolled crit hit chance and crit hit damage, except the hunter killer where i have 5.5 crit hit chance, will optimize it.
60 chc and 140 chd. 83 k armour regen with Memento stacks, 1.7 mill armour, the mop as secondary. 20 %armour on kill.
    Fun, run and gun.
