Hello,
I have stopped playing divison 2 for more than a year and I bought the game again with expansion to go back in and I am super confused. Every one in my clan has a level (level 40) and I have a gear score of 498.
When I clicked on the game it asked me if I wanted to go expansion or base game and I clicked base game.
Should I just grind the base game to get 515 gear ? When will my gear score change to level ?
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
The Warlords of New York expansion raised the level cap to 40. It also got rid of gearscore for anything levels 31-40.
You should finish any achievements or commendations at level 30 that you want to do, since once you go to New York you won't be able to return to Washington until you finish the story of WONY, but don't worry about gearscore at all.
Keep in mind that boosted characters can NOT complete any commendations in the level 1-30 base game.
With a GS of 498 you are probably currently playing on WT5 – which is as far as you can get with the base game. GS 515 would indeed be the end of the line for you here, gearwise. Your gear literally couldn't get any better (speaking only of the values of the attributes, of course creating synergies between talents, perks and bonuses can always improve any build).Originally Posted by sachalg02 Go to original post
If you do own the expansion "Warlords of New York" you theoretically are ready to play it. It starts a new story campaign in NYC during which you will automatically level up to level 40 (just like you did from level 1 to 30). As mentioned before: keep in mind that you need to finish the campaign of WoNY first before you can return to DC. After having finished the campaign you can then freely choose whether to play missions, roam the open world, attack control points, whatever either in DC or NY. No restrictions here.Originally Posted by sachalg02 Go to original post
And once you have reached level 40, you will remain level 40. The quality of your gear (again: only speaking of the attributes) can then be determined by checking the values of the attributes (e. g. 15% weapon damage would be the highest possible main attribute for a red core item).
