Hello! I'm new to the far cry 5 franchise and I'm thinking about which edition is most worth it for me to buy.
I want to play the game not only for the characters or gunplay, but exploring rural Montana, and see the beauty of the countryside and explore the game.
As such which edition, normal, gold, deluxe should I buy? Also, which DLC would you guys recommend me to go for?
As a last question, is there multiplayer in this game, and is monetization a large part of the gameplay experience?192.168.0.1 routerlogin 192.168.l.l
If you like to explore the normal map of the game there is no need to buy any DLC. I have the standard edition and for me that is just enough, absolutely not interested in Zombies, Viet-Cong or going to Mars. If not mistaken with the deluxe edition you will have some additional stuff, of which I think is already in the basic game. As for monetization, that is up to you, personally I never purchase anything from in-game stores but if you see something you like, and for the right price. it can be yours. You don't need any of it to play the game and experience the environment of rural Montana (for what it's worth). Haven't done any multiplayer but is supported by the game, just check store page for more details.
As for DLC, Viet-Cong is a good game mode to me, it is different from the main game in location(set in Vietnam) it is a bit of a different tone, and the play is similar but enough different to be fun addition. Viet-Cong really lends itself to stealth play and very deliberate encounters, due to lack of weapons and limited gear.
Mars is a fun romp with outrageous weapons, a quirky story and fun movement mechanics.
Zombies is boring as heck to me and I have never finished more than a couple of the missions.
If all you are really interested in is Montana, then the main game is plenty and maybe the Deluxe edition for a few extra things for the game. Depending on Sale price, you may want to get the best edition just because, but I would definitely wait on a sale for the game, because at this point there probably isn't a reason you have to buy it TODAY and instead can wait a bit for a better price.
Monetization is if you want shortcuts to certain guns, or certain outfits, but you can easily go through the entire game without spending a penny on extra ingame stuff. You will find some "silver" ingame monetization currency in some safes, enough to buy one or two weapons or maybe on outfit/piece of outfit...the silver usually comes is small amounts but there are many hidden safes with it equaling up to 500 or so silver...maybe more, as I have found some even after finishing the game many times, the safes remain but you only get the silver once in them and later will get ingame money. With NG+ I personally don't see any reason to spend real money on gear as you can go back through the game again and again until you have all the money and gear you want, and with hunting done right, money is endless in game. The only money Ubi got from me on this game was the original purchase price.
