    AR Build? Damage/Armor

Haven't played in months so I am not familiar with all the updates and near gear. Curious to know what the current best AR build is for dealing damage and taking damage. No skills and such.

The "best" AR build right now, IMO, actually uses skill tiers. There's a new exotic assault rifle called the "Capacitor" which gains weapon damage for each yellow core you have on gear.

This means you can have a tier 6 crusader shield with a mix of red and yellow cores along with the Memento backpack. Super-high damage output with a maximum strength shield. Or have very good weapon damage with very good turret/drone.

But you can still go with a traditional "All Red" glass cannon build. That's still very strong as well. Quickest to assemble would be 3 pieces of striker, Glass Cannon chest, Vigilance backpack. Police M4/Famas/Carbine 7

I think that the old meta all-red still works well, but you are ofc sacrificing survivality.
    My AR/rifle build is:
    Mask: ceska chc/chd
    Backpack: providence with vigilance, chc/chd
Chest: providence with obliterate( i hate glass cannon) chc/chd/weapon handling
    Gloves: grupo sombra chc/chd
    Holster: providence chc/chd
    Kneepads: Fox prayers chc/chd/dttoc

When it comes to weapons you will need to check what you like playing with. Some ARs are ofc better than other.
If you like slower rpm-higher damage/bullet you can go with AKM or FAL (my personal favourites), but obliterate wont work as good. I would go for unbreakable since you are going with slower rpm you will expose yourself for more damage.
I consider high rpm AR as everything above 800, so FAMAS, Police M4, F2000, or CTAR would be a good idea to aim at getting. Mind that Police M4 and FAMAS are basically doing the same damage, and while Police M4 is more stable and accurate at 850 rpm, the FAMAS is 900 rpm but requires little more control. If you find it hard to aim, you can allways go for the named FAMAS called Burnout, which has the "perfectly on empty" talent that gives you 40% weapon handling when reloading on empty mag.
I allways play rifle/ar with the sharpshooter spec and i have one 8% weapon handling attribute on my chest, which gives me enough weapon handling to play with the regular FAMAS.
When it comes to weapon talents you have a lot of options and what you choose depends on your plastyle. Killer, Optimist and Strained are good options. In-sync is very good if you are playing with the striker drone or shield.

You don't need Providence to reach limit of CHC now. It can be done w/ it on each piece and 1 mod..

    12 Red Build:

Mask: Grupo Wpn/CHC/CHD - CHC Mod
Chest: Fenris Wpn/CHC/CHD - CHD Mod - Spotter
    Holster: Ceska Wpn/CHC/CHD
Back: Walker Wpn/CHC/CHD - CHD Mod - Vigilance
    Glove: Contractor Wpn/AD/CHD
    Knee: Fox's Wpn/OoC/CHC
    AR: G3 P416 Wpn/Hp Dam/OoC - In Sync
    2ndary: Season 4 Exotic Shotgun
Pistol: TDI Kard for +1 Skill - In Sync
Technician : Damage Side & Use Laser
Skills: Assault Turrent & Striker Drone

Swap to TDI, toss both skills, swap AR and burn all down lickety split!

And this can be built in less than 40 hrs of game time solo.

The "Capicator/META" junk CAN'T without someone dragging you through Summit or where ever it is. I still haven't found it/gotten it.

    Enjoy!

You literally just have to complete 10 challenges in summit. It takes maybe a couple of hours to finish. Can be done solo or in a group. No dragging required.

    10 Challenges to many.

    Summit is a POS!

That's why I said, "drag you through it".

Compared to what you have to do in order to farm other exotics, that's a cakewalk.

Truly. Capacitor is the easiest exotic in the game to get. I have dropped several for players that didn't have them as they are part of my general loot pool now.

    Otherwise, I love my FAMAS.

You only need 5 challenges to get it . And it take 15-20 min.
