Has anyone else had problems with the arm movements not registering?
I keep getting told that my arms are not high enough. Even when they're practically out of my sockets it's still not good enough. The indicator flickers between green and grey and the trainer keep saying, "Get your arms higher", "That's what I'm looking for", "Get your arms higher". And, of course, at the end of the exercise I receive the inevitable, "Next time get your arms higher".
For some reason it seems to register better when I go to the left, but I'm not doing anything notably different; I tend to get 80-100% on the left and 75-85% on the right. I've even tried rotating to different positions: side on, 45 degrees, and a host of varying angles, but nothing seems to improve.
Any thoughts?

I've been doing this program and I remember the trainer voice saying things like that but the other feed back showing that I was doing just fine. Have a look at this thread Getting Frustrated with the Personal Training about trainer voice anomalies. If you're doing okay on the percentage scores and the green circles are lighting up don't worry about what the trainer is saying. I find that this particular exercise program doesn't have any real tracking difficulties.
Generally speaking when I'm doing a new cardio exercise, (or dance routine for that matter) I don't worry about the arms too much at first. I pay more attention to the leg movements and staying in rhythm. As I get better with the legs I find the arms tend to take care of themselves as I get more comfortable with the routine. The important thing is to just move your arms the best you can to get good exercise. It's also very common to not do as well on one side as the other, even if it feels like you're doing it exactly the same way. Most people are stronger and more coordinated on one side, so the other side has more of a learning curve.
