He has one of the best dodge attacks in the game. Its a super safe one if you can stay out of GB range too. You can use it to bait out attacks from your opponent which can lead into massive oos punishes if you choke them. You can also use Sifu stance to great effect as well. He is pretty difficult to get used to, but he is very devastating in the right hands.
I have to agree with the others. JJ is quite powerful and viable thanks to his insane I-frames on his dodge attacks and his huge hit-box and damage.I just feel, compared to other heavies, he feels/acts so slow and unresponsive, and his dodge attacks are so slow and readable they're just not worth using. Been struggling with him since I picked him up.
In fact I think that his 400 ms chain lights should be slowed down to 500 ms and there should be a bit more gb vulnerability on his dodge attacks to make him more balanced.
After a bit of practice, I'm happy to say I'm much better as JJ now. Once I got the timing of the dodges down and started using the punish more, it was smooth sailing from there. I do think he needs some tweaks to his lights to make them more fair for other players and a GB window on his dodge. I'm just scared they'll butcher him in the testing grounds.
I'm Surpised they even remembered JJ since I don't see much player play him. Literally they annoyed shinobi and lawbringer. Personally I understand why they annoyed and nerf him he was literary the number one best duelist long ago. But shinobi didn't need to be nerf like that. Literally my boy Shinobi getting folded like a beach chair in matches.
Shinobi the Weak Mosquito
Yeah, I checked it and you're right, the attacks are 500 ms indeed. They just seem to be faster (to me, at least) for some reason. Probably because of the quite fluid but a bit weird animation. And there are the hidden indicators, of course.jj's chain lights are 500 ms not 400 there still is 100 ms of hidden indicator that does not change the attack is 500 ms.
