Dear gaming friends, I am new to this forum and looking for some advise. I played probably 1000 hours already in this game and 500 with TD2. In November I entered the dark zone the first time. Before I played several times the campaign, side missions, bounties. I am on level 99 in DZ, world tier 5. My issue is that I in nearly all cases I am getting killed when fighting with rouges, also in 1:1 situations. For example: a single rougue spotted me, running towards me, I am hiding that he cannot shoot at me and i am firing the full load of my M4 on him and the full load of my house and when he reached me and he fired few bullets and I was immediately dead. I have no clue how this can be. That happens all the time like this. The rouges seem to be much stronger in firepower and stamina and I have no clue why. I have nomad class and banshee class with both 8, 5 and 3k. All 6 gear pieces optimised with e.g. extra attributes on assault rifle damage and smg damage, crit chance and crit damage. My M4 LW full optimised with talents deadly, responsive and increased firepore when distance below 30m (?). My house has talent deadly as well, do not remever the other. Do you have advise what might be missing?
Thank you for your help!
Best regards from Germany

Hi Gnarly
I suspect some rogue players of cheating.
I have the same problem.
The stats say I have a solid build. But I do not seem to do any damage at a rogue player and I die within a few rounds.
You play solo in the DZ?
Perhaps it is an idea to look for a squad and face the rogues together.
Some focus fire does wonders.
Besides rampant cheating, also note that what is an awesome PvE build, may not be any good in PvP. For instance, I only PvE so I am heavily spec'd into Damage to Elite (DTE) and Enemy Armor Damage (EAD) statistics. Mostly running solo challenging, this is perfect for what I need. But, if I played PvP, I'd substitute those for more Crit hit damage (CHD) and Crit hit Chance (CHC). Because I solo challenging almost exclusively, I usually have 10%+ of Health on Kill (HOK), plus Predatory on most of my guns. This keeps me healed up nicely and I rarely ever have to use med kits. However, when I group up and run Legendary, the HOK largely becomes a moot point, particularly if I am running a full stamina D3 build to act as a bullet sponge while others make the kills.
It seems like there is another gear talent that doesn't work in PvP but I can't think of it. Resistances as well as chosen Abilities may have similar traits too.
For pve I use my nomad class build but with crit chance and damage. Are these stats inactive in pve? I thought, if eg armour damage is 10% and crit damage as well, I better take crit damage because that I can also use pvp. The same question I have to the weapon talents, eg is deadly inactive in pve? Because if I not, having 10% deadly talent would make more sense than 10% on armour damage. In the meantime I have now a complete and optimized predator classified set but that also does not solve my pvp issue. In all 1:1 situations I die almost immediately with my nomad, banshee and nomad. I would assume cheating is only possible when playing with PC? I play with xbox.
I will try a striker build next but I am missing the holster for a complete set.

PvP in this game is as bad as it can get, it doesn't matter what kind of build you are using. Simply make sure you have a very bad connection (de-sync or lag switch) to the server and you're good to go. I have played in DZ a lot and some players you just can't kill (with of without cheats). When I use one of my builds I can make a Nomad proc several times without even having to reload and still kill them. But only time this happens is when I play with people nearby and having good connections, just like I have. If you go up against someone in remote areas that don't have decent connections this becomes nearly impossible.
I play on PC and there are many people that use cheats in some form. Most of the problems people have are related to how the game is setup. The client-server-client link is the root cause of many issues that players have in PvP and even PvE at times. If you like to play PvP best find another game that is capable of delivering better game-play for it, and without the silly skills. I did enjoy the DZ but not for the PvP part, it's just upgraded version of the city with tougher AI in the upper parts.
There is a way to take down exploiters. Being faster and better player. Just change server if its too hard. You know the feeling when something is wrong. Just leave if it occurs. J
Just make sure you have several strong PVP builds. Dont look every youtubers in every case about builds for PVP. In many cases they shows builds by exploiters without knowledge?. Some of those builds are really bad in PVP vs good players.
Sure network connection has always been a problem. Since im old fashion, laggcheat has been there since the beginning of multiplayer...there was many ways to activate glitch with pc. We called them buggusers. Just start a virusapplication and you had wallhack...many many ways to exploits multiplayer on pc before. and now i guess.
But that said, servers also had active admin to block cheaters by nick, ip and mac adress. So you knew witch servers had good admins to make the game free from trash.
D2 have no active admin to controll for exploiters that occurs on the servers.
Devs never perm ban cheaters. It has never occured in d2.Just be carefull about racial slur, only then you can get ban.
just saying

For instance, for PvE, I roll a lot of Enemy Armor Damage and Damage to Elite. Both are useless against other players. So, for PvP you might opt for all crit hit chance and damage in those places. That build actually works on both game modes, but it won't work quite as well in PvE as EAD and DtE does if playing Challenging and above.
