I've been playing this game since launch on console, and just recently switched to PC. I've been down the PvP road, I used to play quite frequently and was pretty decent at it, but came to realize that the general atmosphere surrounding competitive PvP was not my thing.

So I started playing PvAI. Back in Year 1 (I think? I'm a little foggy on it, it's been a while) I recall bot levels being defaulted at Level 2, which in PvAI provided a decent and fun challenge while still keeping the game casual and non-competitive. Now that I'm playing almost exclusively PvAI, I noticed the bots are always Level 1, which is an absurdly easy and boring fight for a veteran For Honor player. After some further research I learned that the bot levels in PvAI are tied to your PvP MMR ranking. It has to be obvious how silly this is. I shouldn't have to muddle through a part of the game that I don't like in order to enjoy a part of the game that I do like. After reading several forum and Reddit posts dating back the last few years I think it is safe to say I am not the only one who feels this way.

Since this is a forum, it would be rather non-productive for me to complain about a feature without suggesting a fix, so here are some ideas I have:

1. Have bot levels be based on a voting system when matchmaking is on in PvAI, similar to the map vote system. When matchmaking is off, allow the host to select the bot level.
2. Provide some sort of bot-based challenge to complete at the start of each season or whenever a player wants to try to increase the skill level of their bot opponents. The better you score in the challenge, the higher level bots you face in PvAI.
3. Have a bot level preference setting that influences matchmaking (the game should try to match people who prefer level 2 bots with other people who prefer level 2 bots).

Ultimately, For Honor is a fantastic game, and I feel all player types should be accommodated, not just the competitive PvP players. The game would be much more enjoyable for me, and I'm sure other PvAI frequenters, if playing PvP was not a requirement for us to encounter even a mild challenge in PvAI. I'm sure this post will get buried, so if you agree with me, please help make this known as a real issue.
