A clean install seemed to stopped the crashes in turn with setting Volumetric Fog to low. Still getting random lag spikes here and there that last for a good 5 - 10 seconds.

Seriously I think ubisoft has to resolve this as top priority. Given a game status like this I believe many others won't have much confidence to the outcome of your new upcoming "Starwars" game. Honestly I don't like Starwars anyway but I think the current situation hurts your reputation.

PC TD2 Game still locks up and or crashes after March update. C'mon UBISOFT!!!!

I am currently reinstalling the entire game. I have tried every trick and possible fix recommend by the community but nothing works. The game freezes and I end up having to end task in Windows Task Manager to close the game. I have tested with the RTX 3080 and the GTX 1080Ti with HDR Off tested with DX12 and DX11 and the game still crashes or locks up every single time.

P.S. I tested all of my hardware components and updated all of my device drivers - this is NOT a hardware issue this is a software problem.

The only temporary work around I found was to frame cap the game at 60fps but even that is now causing the game to lock up and crash.
This is the only game that I am having this problem with.

Ubisoft really needs to get on top of this issue, it is ridiculous that the community members are the ones solely doing anything to troubleshoot all of these game update/patch issues and apparently the developers are not even aware of what the problem IS. I have posted to multiple game forums and to the Ubisoft twitter account.

If they don't get to the bottom of their software issue(s) soon their PC player base will vanish. My suggestion is that they need to roll back their updates immediately to a working stable update before March if they cannot get on top of these issues which are clearly making their game unstable and ultimately unplayable.

    TD2 Game crashes.

    New Update!!!

Reinstalling the game even on a NVMe Solid State Drive did not fix the problem game played well for 5 minutes then complete crash to desktop again.

Great job on the update guys. Please fix the game already!!! Or roll back to the working version....

Hi guys, on the same day that the game had been updated i had installed Nvidia windows 10 insider test drivers version 470.05 then got constant crashing, on Friday night when i finished work i reverted back to Nvidia driver 457.51 and played without a single crash, I played for over 2 hours earlier today(Saturday) and just played another hour.... late evening without a single crash.

If anyone is running Windows 10 Insider preview.....it may be your driver update causing the issue.

Verified files two weeks ago and the CTD stopped...until last week. Another verify files did not work this time. CTD along with a a Windows message that telling me the device will be restarted. This is the only game that will not play. Done with it.

This is getting ridiculous now. Non-stop crashing earlier, had a good four or five in the space of half an hour. If anything it's got worse since the latest patch, which is strange as the patch notes say they've fixed it.

Think I may start contacting a few people I know in the gaming press, see if they'll be interested in running with this story to add a little bit of pressure to Massive/UbiSoft to either fix it or tell us why they're not bothering to.

Nvidia driver 457.51 = fixed CTD issues

After constant crash to desktop problems, I uninstalled latest Nvidia drivers and installed 457.51.

I used DDU to uninstall current drivers, and reinstalled older version.

Working well so far, no crashes.
