Something different that I tried that seemed to work. I was running both Uplay and GeForce Experience game overlays.
    1. turn off Uplay overlay
    2. turn off GeForce Experience overlay
    3. Run optimization for the game in GeForce Experience
    4. Run the game from GeForce Experience

Current driver is 461.09 on a GTX 1070 Ti

Had no crash to desktop today yesterday i did remove directx cache im not sure if that did the trick yet will eventually find out it would explain why its not happening anymore tho, but it would also mean that there big issue atm with nvidia drivers or a bug on Microsoft side.

I am really surprised there is no info regarding the recent patch. Any changelog, release notes, etc?

All I want is to be able to play the damned game without it crashing or framedropping to unplayability when it feels like it. It's too mucho to ask, apparently.

I may know why my game doesn't crash because I removed the Ubisoft Connect and re-install it, then verified both Division 2 and Rainbow Six Siege in Steam. I remember that one of these steps would remove the Direct X completely. The Direct X cache may be cleared during this moment.
