    Do both Incoming Repairs and Repair Skills work on a shield...

    ...when using a fixer drone?

    I was twiddling with my Bulwark build and I have a god-rolled Forge holster that has +20% on both, plus +50% shield health, and want to make sure the +40% repairs is also applying to my shield like I think it is.

    Not sure if incoming repairs affects it. The rules of what affects the shield seems to change from patch to patch. Repair skills will affect your shield, if you're repairing it with a repair skill that heals by an actual number value. If you're just using Artificer hive, that won't work since it heals by a percentage.

    The artificer hive (at tier 1, which you can get from the technician specialization’s free skill tier) has a base skill repair of 20% every 10 seconds. In our case that is 20% of your shield’s health every 10 seconds. There are two ways to increase this repair;

    • Skill tier rolls will increase the base value, 10% for each skill tier added. So the base value is equivalent to: 10 x (skill tier + 1)
    • Repair skills will amplify your base value (ie// multiply it)

    The amount of shield health repaired by the artificer hive for us every 10 seconds is given by the calculation:

    Code:
    (10 x (skill tier + 1)) x (1 + sum of repair skills)
    For instance a tier 1 hive and 20% repair skills (10% from your SHD watch and 10% from the technician tree) heals (10 x (1+ 1)) x (1 + 0.2) = 24% of your shield every 10 seconds.

    The answers here have me re-thinking this build. I was sticking with Firewall because of the shield bonuses the specialization gives you, but just switching to Technician gained me a 15% increase in shield health, likely because of the extra skill tier I gained. It also allowed me to equip the Artificer, though I've used this variant so little I have crap for mods.

    I am using 3 pieces of Bulwark, mostly because I have a backpack with Adrenaline Rush and a chest with Intimidate, so the combo really boosts my Liberty's firepower at close range.

    One thing I am not sure of is the Forge holster. Maybe dropping the 50% shield health boost it gives in favor of a Bulwark holster (and gaining the Makeshift Repairs talent from 4 pieces) would be the next step?

    P.S. In a brief testing period two rogue agents spawned and shredded me, so I guess it's not strong enough yet...

    The 4 pc bulwark would help with technician. But rogue agents are good at shooting you and not your shield is the issue I ran into. I use deflector shield and had to move in and out of line of site when dealing with rogues. Other then that I almost never run out of shield health taking everything thing head on.

    I don't have a clue on repair skills v incoming repairs anymore. I just use protection from elites for my mods.

    I use 4 piece Foundry, Perfect Vanguard, and the Forge for my tankiest build. Regulus or Liberty. I run in Technician with the Demolisher firefly for Chungas.
