Petition to re-classify LVOAC back to Assault Rifle

Im a forum noob and dont know how to do actual survey's like Muprhee..

But as the title says, is there anybody else that would like to see the LVOAC return to the meta assault rifle? How many votes would we need before we force the DEVs to respond?

What a way to take a steaming dump on a "forum noob" btw. I liked the LVOAC. Was the SMG of AR's. Fast fire rate, low damage, and great for strikers. If it ain't broke dont fix it.

I think that's the problem. It wouldn't be the same, possibly prompting players to complain.

The devs has stated that the M4 was turned into an AR just because in Division 1, since there was no rifle category in the game and its real world counterpart isn't an automatic weapon. It's funny because the mistake became the meta for the life of the game, ultimately killing weapon diversity.

But at this point, the M4 becoming automatic would be a matter of aesthetics. With a rate of fire roll, both the Carbine 7 and Honey Badger are the M4s of this game in terms of RPM and handling, with the obvious difference being damage mechanics (simple +- weapon damage in Division 2 versus Firearm scaling in Division 1). Also, the Police M4 is still there.

Also for future reference, to make a poll, start a new thread and check the "create a poll box" at the bottom of the page under additional options

That poster was not dumping on the op, the op asked for peoples opinions on a weapon and he,she put their opinion down.as for the it ain't broke don't fix it. Well it was broke it was never meant to be fully automatic, so in this game they reverted back to what it should have been, and as an extra piece look at Merphee's post.

We have the Carbine 7, the Police M4 and the Honey Badger all M4 archetypes that basically are the same thing.

He did ask me if i wanted to have it being meta again, which i don't simple because of the reasons stated above, division 2 has it's issues from changing a lot from division 1 but i think of those as fair mistakes from trying big changes, one of them is not trying to remake literally the same gun meta from the first game, there's still D1 if you want LVOAC as meta, i understand that he wants his powerful gun back just think that will loop us back to D1 in a bad way

In fact, I would like to reclassify the MK20SSR and G28 as rifles. These two weapons are almost unusable under the marksman rifle.

Perhaps they should swap the LVOAC with the SiG 556, as in real life the variant of the 556 they use in game is only available in semi-auto anyway.

Maybe i'm just upset because I have one in real life and I prefer the LVOAC to be an assualt rifle in this franchise over a rifle.

Yes, i understand honey badger, m4 and carbine 7 are essentially the same thing...

One last thought --- maybe what i actually meant to say was that Massive should expand/explore all weapon class customizations options. Im thinking the Gunsmith from Ghost Recon wildlands. I would like to be able to farm for custom rails, scopes, grips, muzzle devices etc. < ----- This is not meant to be contradictory, i remember how annoying it was to have to farm for these in Division 1. In my head I envision it to be a lot more streamlined like TD2 where once you farm it, it's available for all eligible weapons.

Basically i'm asking for an expanded capability for firearm customization within the game. Yep, you guys have talked me out of it. I dont actually want the LVOA C to return to an assualt rifle(its in the game if i really want to use it now), really what i'm asking for is more customization capabilities for weapons.

Thanks for sorting out my thoughts
