Ubisoft. My god.
What are you even doing?
How do you not realize that the biggest cause of imbalance in For Honor comes from the differentiating opinions from players at 240fps and players at 30-100fps.
Players at 240fps pre ccu just had staring contests cuz defending was just too easy. The solution was hidden indicators. Great solution if the game is ONLY PLAYED BY ANYONE AT 240FPS.
For anyone else, it was the worst thing they've done to the game since launching it on P2P servers.
The game is only really playable now at high fps values. Its garbage with 100 or less.
Why did you decide to go with hidden indicators as opposed to simply capping the PC framerate? The only reason defense was so easy was because high framerate. Reduce the framerate, boom, defense nerfed.
Remove the stupid hidden indicators and then CAP PC FRAMES TO 60fps. Why is this so difficult to understand?
Its pretty rough for me too and im on pc 144 fps. Its the fact that even the animations are hidden, if it was just the indicators, I could get behind it. Since both are hidden, so many attacks are literally impossible to react to, like you physically cannot move your guard over in time. You also cannot dodge out of light attacks often I found.
The idea is nice to refresh the game, but I feel like they didn't take into account that they added and reworked a number of heroes to counter the turtle meta with bashes, but now that attacks are faster, it makes fighting someone like BP, Conq or a headbutt spamming Warlord so much worse than before. You see how they had to nerf Shugo after the update, its like they were in a rush to refresh the game in anyway the could.
Im with you, I hate the CCU, it made the game a light and bash spam fest. Id prefer someone who turtles over a spammer
Just played about 24 hours of For Honor the past few days to finish up the season pass. I'm on PS4 with an 7 year old Sony TV, so I'm sure input latency is bad. The game is playable when we have players around 35ms ping or better. Once we get groups of players with ping at 65ms+ and always one guy bouncing around close to 150 ms, the game becomes unplayable. With that kind of latency it's already over half a second for a full group. I'm getting hit before indicators even appear and heavy attacks coming a mile away go right through my block as if I'm doing nothing. GB turn in to counter GB and parries are maybe 50/50 . . . feels more like RNG. What bothers me the most is the hit stun mechanic, where once you get hit by one attack you are basically stuck and get continuously hit even when holding block in the proper direction. I can't even dodge out of the attacks because it simply isn't registering. All I can do is disengage and roll away and try to control B because nothing is working. This has happened on about 75% of the games I've played the past few days and it is not fun. When the game is running smooth about 10% of the time it feels great. Most of the time though it feels like inputs have at least a half second or more delay. I usually check by activating the gates and bridge levers to see how bad it is. Sometimes, it's close to a second until it activates, so then I know to expect a laggy game. Right now, the game has devolved in to a light spam and bash gest on PS4. There's really no point to defense because it's all about whoever can get their light attack chain going first will usually win.
I have similar issues even on pc. Even with high fps and good ping on my side, if my opponent has around 50+ and they are used a fast light hero, it is literally impossible to parry them. There have been so many times where I make a good read (which is For Honor's way of saying a good guess) and im literally pressing the heavy button the exact same time a light appears on my screen, sometimes before as well and it just goes right through. I feel like no matter how much I play now, I just can't get used to this update. And ive played for years.
