    Will modding any Ubisoft games hurts GaaS?

    I know I've seen few threads, reddit, and forums about modding any Ubisoft games.
    Some of them are allowed, some of don't.
    But, the question is, can modding their game hurts the GaaS?
    If so, then why?

    I think the answer to your question is pretty obvious as it will depend if the mods directly compete with what Ubi is offering through their MTX model.

    It's not just competing MTX model w/ mods, it's also about how longetivity game is because of modding.
    Say, one studios decides release the dev tools for modding one game, while other studio decides don't, keeping it on devs themselves
    Imagine, modding would be a thing again since OGR up to GRAW2

    If they can govern and monitor the modding and provide a platform for player created content within the online game environment then maybe. Without the technology to support that, I doubt they will open up much more.

    Wargaming's World of Tanks & World of Warships had allow modding for UI and models, just as long as not consider cheating
    If you want, you can check their policy there
    As for EA, Battlefield 3 had loot color removal mod, but it went patched out after thinking that defeats the loot purpose.
    I wonder if Ubisoft would choose between those 2?

    You asked why modding might hurt their GaaS model and I gave a reason. I wasn't trying to make a case against it.

    I think Modding would be OK on a small scale but not Mainstream. MY most wanted thing is a Mission Editor as Some of the Players are Excellent at making them.

    Sure, anything is possible and different companies and even studios within them will have different approaches, depending on whether they think there is an overall benefit to themselves. That benefit doesn't have to be anything tangible, there is value in allowing mods to keep your community active and engaged with your product. However, wthout getting into the rights and wrongs of it, GR seems to be moving towards the GaaS model and so I think the approach they take to modding will have to fit within that model as an imposed constraint.
