I moved one track down to try and reel in crane yard. I remember having a difficult time on this track when I first started playing the game, like so many others... It was a fun track to race back then and still remains so today. I started my climb today ranked 128.
It’s got another timing based time saver jump that needs to be hit just right to carry you over the last obstacle before the finish line. I was able to improve my time up to 102 and then 96 by just improving the rest of my approach to the track. It’s best to keep as tight to the ground on all the obstacles before the time saver.
As I continued working on the time saver I started climbing up into the top 100 with a finish at 87 and 68. I’m still not getting a super clean jump off the metal i beam, but I found my way over with enough momentum to lift me up to 47.
I can’t start any races in the bunker, so I’m using that time to crack more tracks.
Onto the next one.

Sewage Treatment was really easy for me. I got the top 100 real fast and lastly settled with a 43. I tried to do the crazy shortcut, and while i did manage to hit the bunny hop a few times, I couldnt get enough speed from the top of the loop, to do it. So I did it the standard way.Originally Posted by Simpledots Go to original post
Crane yard is hard for me, i dont like that track. Not only am i slow in the beginning, the last shortcut I either overshoot, or I undershoot or worst, I feel like its perfect but that beams still drop. And the few times it works. My bunnyhop is too bad to clear the finish line speedy.
Wow, i took a break from that track and just went back to racing Crane Yard. I switched the ghost and got a 36 run really quick! I went from 300ish to 140 and then to 36. That was crazy and i feel, i could have even gotten top 30 as my ending wasnt as perfect as the ghost i race...but i beat the ghost.
So now that im all caught up, whats ur next track?
I also just got 26th on Parched Cliff, the map isnt that hard actually, surprised it was so easy to get a top 30 there. Took me way longer to do the Crane Yard.
Nicely done, great finishes! That metal i beam was tricky for me as well. I definitely didn’t get a clean jump over that last obstacle and gave up some time there.
26th is great on any trackc, well done there. I took down Parched Cliff a while ago and have been falling a little bit since I cracked the top 100 there. I’m still hanging in there with a 68.
As for the next one for me, I’m staying in the same area as those last two tracks. I need to take down Desert Gondola, Drop Zone and Walrus Road... I’ve been playing a little bit on Walrus Road, but it’s been tough.

I just beat Walrus Road, got 36th. It was quite difficult actually. I figured out the first main shortcut quite quickly, but then the hard bit was, to setup the slide over the big hillclimb. I only got that one a few times and unfortunately always failed at the end, else I would have been a top 20 maybe even top 10 run. The second hard but was skipping the containers at the end. This basically screwed most of my times and was the reason, why it took me so long. I actually got a run in the 80s quick, but i wanted better and Im glad i persisted, because i ended up with that 36 run which im quite happy about. The beginning wasnt my fastest, but the end was really fast!
Nice, heck yeah that’s a great time!
I didn’t play much yesterday at all, only about 10 runs really. I played Walrus Road a bit more the night before though...
Those containers at the end of the run have been my undoing every time! I haven’t had one clean jump over them yet and I quickly give back any time I gained up to that point by literally pushing up them instead of completely jumping them. I have to clean up that spot if I’m going to move up off my current rank.

Drop Zone is pretty easy. I didnt take long to do it, got a rank in the mid sixties. The trick really is to get the first two time savers perfect, the rest is so easy anyway, I doubt the end will be hard there, so thats probably why it is easier to do.
Blazing your way through Stefan! Keep it up! I started playing Walrus Road again and am just not making any progress on that track yet. It’s a very tough grind for me. Setting up the jump over the containers has been absolutely brutal. I haven’t hit that one time, shoot I haven’t even been close to nailing that yet. I won’t be surprised if I jump into the top 100 once I do though: the rest of the run is solid...
Walrus Road remains a impenetrable roadblock for me. I haven’t even bettered my time once since my grind started. I was able to hit the time saver sliding wheelie jump in the bowl at the third checkpoint once, which was really cool. It launches up and completely over the 4th checkpoint. Hitting that really propelled me I front of my ghost. I haven’t been going for that jump much right now since I’m having such a horrible time getting over the containers cleanly at the end. I’ll keep grinding away, but this track is proving to be more difficult for me than The Assumption was.
I needed to stack up a win since I’ve been struggling so much with Walrus Road. I moved over to Desert Gondola to improve a 121 rank. I know I say it often, but this was another really fun track for me when I first unlocked it. Its still a fun track with lots of options to ride. I was able to crack the top 100 and finish at 70 after about 20 minutes or so. I had some better starts with solid jumps over the tracks first time saver with clean bunny hops over the next section as well. I tend to give up time on this track at the large falling stone section and that little jump just after. At any rate, I was able to clean up some things to finish at 64.
Back to Walrus Road...
