FINALLY! That was bonkers. I just couldn’t get over those containers cleanly. I knew with how I approached the rest of the track that I’d jump into the top 100 with a clean jump there at the end. I was able to get some movement in my rank with a great sliding wheelie jump at the 3rd checkpoint. That jump took me most of the way down the next hill and I of course stumbled with the containers, but it was enough to take me from 178 to 112.

I was able to hit the sliding time saver several more times without clearing the containers. I really think I’d catapult my way up well into the top 100 if I can pull both off successfully. I bet you’d shoot very high with that time saver and your ending to the track Stefan.

I finally hit my first clean jump at the end without a sliding jump that pushed me to 62. 😀. Wicked stoked that I cracked it. I raced a handful more times after that 62 run and tackled the containers 2 more times with one of those runs finishing .01 off my 62 run...

    Onto the next one.

Nicely done! Agreed, the last shortcut on Walrus is very hard. It took me a while to figure it out, then it got easier. Its hard to learn these, because they are so far in the end, a spot you rarely get to.
I actually still have to do the drop zone. I did desert gondola yesterday. I just listed the wrong track name yesterday.

Drop Zone is very easy tho. I didnt really have the time to push my rank into crazier times there, Im perfectly happy with a 67. The hardest part is either the beginning, where you have to time the hill climb perfectly, or the end, where you need to use the tiny part of the slope, to accelerate over the gap. Not sure how to explain it, but its right at the end, you’ll know what I mean, if you race my ghost

I dropped my way into the top 100 on Drop Zone. I agree, this one wasn’t too difficult, it was a much more pleasant track when compared to Walrus Road.

I was able to get a much quicker handle on the beginning hill climb than I was able to tackle that last ramp before the finish line. So, I’d say the ending was more difficult for me. There’s at least two ways to address that last ramp though as I’ve seen riders with times in the 30’s that didn’t use the approach you and I did where we slowed down and kicked off the top of the ramp. Our approach cuts the corner and if done right it gets you down quicker and into the landing ramp with great momentum to make that final push into the finish line. I will say those that didn’t get the kick off that last jump carried very strong times into that last ramp by crushing everything before hand.

This was another grind that saw me move up the leaderboard many times before cracking the top 100. I started with a rank of 295, but very quickly improved to 227, 197, 130 and then 121. I improved my time in the front portion of the track and moved to 120. My first time cracking 100 was accomplished without the kick off on the last ramp and pushed me to 88.

I see the benefit of the kick off there at the end, so I wanted to get a good run with one of them and finished at 67 and one spot in front of you Stefan. I raced another 4 or 5 runs after that and pushed my way up to 47.

    Onto the next one.

I need to improve my times on many tracks in the same area that we’re in now. So, I’ll probably move to one of those tracks next.

I did the Pendulum today. It was quite a tricky track. I always struggled with the ending, but the beginning also has a very difficult time saver. Getting this timesaver is the most important thing. Being too slow at the start will make it impossible to catch up. Further more, I dont know the best way to do the end. I did it quite weirdly, but it looked fast. Unfortunately it wasnt the most consistent strat and caused me to restart many good attempts. When I started this track, I was already close to the top 100, so all I needed was around 0.5 secs improvement. I literally beat my score multiple times by only 0.05s, it was really hard for me to improve. Thats why I didnt attempt to further improve my time when I finally finished with a 83 run.

WOWZA! Incredible run on a very difficult track Stefan! This is another track that I haven’t been able to beat my ghost on for a long time. I’ve come back to this track every now and then to grind on. Since we’ve been in this area, I’ve been hitting it yesterday as well. I plan to keep grinding here with hopes of getting as close to the top 100 as I can.

I agree with you on the first time saver being tough, but the ending is much more difficult for me as well. I’m not sure how to approach that ending either, aside from my ghost that had a relatively clean attempt up that double climb. Your approach worked and I’ve tried it a few times today. I haven’t been able to build up speed sliding and making that next transition from that position. This one is going to take me some time, probably taking longer and being more frustrating than Walrus Road was... back to the grind!

Well, I swung just inside the top 100 on The Pendulum. I’d love to improve my final time a little bit though...

This has always been a difficult track for me, but that’s one of the reasons it’s also been so much fun to race. It was hard for me to platinum on originally and stayed true to form as I worked to improve a rank of 317.

I wasn’t able to finish with the same ending as you did Stefan, but I was able to push up that ending to finally get some movement up the leaderboard to finish 195. When I flip up and grab that top ledge with my back tire, I just can’t keep the speed to flip back over and finish the rest of the track.

Unfortunately, it’s still hard for me to carry any momentum up that ending to stay in position to push off the top to the second little base before the finish line. That’s definitely the part I struggle with most on this track, with the starting drop and bunny hop sequence being second...

I think having the most difficult obstacle at the end of a track increases the frustration level most. It just stings more when you put up a great time only to give it all up on an ending sequence.

So, my approach to this track was to improve as much as I could in the front of the track so I can take as much extra time into the ending as I could. I would just reset immediately if I didn’t get a clean start. There’s just no way for me to make that time back up at the end. With this approach, I moved up to 177 and then push to 93 quickly after that 177 run.

I will say, this grind wasn’t as difficult for me as Walrus Road was, which surprised me. I’m thankful it wasn’t though and know I have some other tracks ahead that will be even harder...

I’m going to try putting a better run together on this one a few more times before moving on. Where you going Stefan?

Very nicely done! Yeah it was hard for me too. I definitely wont touch Dark Machine anytime soon if you know what i mean... I hate speedrunning that one. Decided to mention that, as it was in the area. While we are on hard tracks, what do you think about Grand Moonshine? I personally really love that track. I will use the Berserker for it though. The BMW is theoretically faster but the Berserker is more fun in my oppinion.

Edit: I just put a few minutes into Grand Moonshine, just got rank 113. This map is much funner and easier for me than Pendulum.
Edit2: I just got a 77 run. But i messed up a really good run earlier. I think i can get a crazy good time here, im pushing as far as possible.
Edit 3: After a long grind I managed to get a 33. This is better than my failed run earlier, so im happy. Still not perfect, but cant really compete with Kartank etc, now can I? They are legends at this game. You can enjoy the run with this link.

The hardest part is going over the two orange tanks at cp 2 quickly and getting the nice slide onto the red tank at cp3. Thats where I caught up with the ghost

Very cool! Grand Moonshine is stupid hard, you crushed that track with a 33. Yeah, all these tracks in this area of the map are tough. I need to improve my time on almost all of them. I’m happy to bounce around and out of this section though and we can sprinkle these in every now and then, lol.

I want to see what I can do on Grand Moonshine. I dread jumping over any container like obstacles though after that torture on Walrus Road...

I put my iPad down for a while after running maybe 3 more attempts on The Pendulum after that 93 run. I literally raced 3 or 4 more times just now and my last attempt was my best collective run on that track. I got off to a great start and was able to push all the way through to the finish line. I’m not sure if I’ve had a better start or a better end to any of my runs all day, it was awesome to have both in one run because it moved me up to 36. 😃

Cool stuff! Sometimes it just goes fast, crazy when you consider all the stupid work you need sometimes. taking a break often helps I think, you cant play well if ur burned put. I did that on some of the trickier maps for me and it always resulted in very good times. Grand Moonshine isnt that hard. The tracks dont get hard until the last two from that map pack, but I
it needs a lot to challenge me. I usually platinum tracks like Pendulum and Moonshine in the bunker, even with the donkey. (Well moonshine isnt a bunker track ).
