Okay, so in the monger missions when you and Phoebe are caught at the mongers s*x dungeon, it is implied that the monger rapes his victims, right? So when you are given the option of killing him publicly to show the public what happens to villains like him it stands to reason that part of what you are doing is removing the control of fear he had on his rape victims, right?
So WHY IN GODS NAME was this decision used to punish players later on in the game during the Archon and the Cult quest line!?!? To be clear I'm talking about how you are forced to kill Lagos instead of being able to spare him, and how this results in a bad relationship with Brasidas and the player character being exiled from Sparta instead of being able to oust the cultist king.
Are we seriously okay with punishing players for helping free a community from the fear of a serial rapist overlord? I mean, I get if this was an oversight in how the two events were connected, but this really needs to be corrected, and I feel like doing so would be as easy as a patch that uses the already existing assets for your confrontation with the cultist Lagos. Just open the option up to spare him (assuming you met the other condition of saving his family) regardless of the choice made in Monger Down. I know I'm a little late to the party on fixing things in AC Odyssey, but I feel like this is important to correct.
As a childhood rape survivor finding out that there was a punishment for choosing to publicly execute a rapist character (the alternative being a private execution) has left me sick to my stomach and questioning if I will finish this game. To be clear, I in no way expect anyone at ubisoft to take responsibility for my personal feelings, they are my own to handle. But I really hope that we can draw attention to this issue and fix it so other survivors who may play this game in the future aren't affected as well.
I don't even know what else to say right now, what are your thoughts on this?
