My guess is we get to the end of the Faye Liu mission and either delta or black screen

My guess is that we're tagged as Rogue because of Faye Lau's actions & the Rogues that appear in activities will be named as SHD Agent. The same content with a little detail changed.

    BOOM... new season!

    There are only two outcomes:

Faye dies and it's literally the end of the game(Division 2). No more story. No more content. Just seasonal events on automated rotation until the playerbase finally gets so low the servers are shut down.

This is the more likely scenario IMO.

    Or....magical fairytale land scenario:

Massive/Redstorm have secretly been working on a new expansion/Division 3. It's what they had to cancel the Nightmare event to "focus in other projects" for. Faye gets away kr reveals a new twist to the story where everything we've known up til now is thrown into question. SHD and ISAC have been manipulated and lied to the entire time.

The new content will have us playing as the Rogues. We're still the "good guys" in the story's narrative, but not constrained by the normal rules of the SHD or ISAC. Anti-heroes of a sort.

If it's a year 3 expansion for division 2, we'll get a new city to operate from, or perhaps an overhaul and update of the existing map to reflect the passage of time.

If it's an entirely new game, then who knows. Maybe we start in Russia, or San Francisco or LA or Houston. Telling the story of the green poison and SHD from a completely different part of America.

I think we'll just kill Faye and that will be it. Zero hope or faith in Massive to do anything good with this franchise at this point. I really don't understand people's optimism about this. Nothing in Massive/Ubi's pattern of behavior suggests good things.

We either join Faye [double agent], or get set up by Faye
    Spoiler:  Show
    [killing Ellis].

Either way, she lives and is integral to Year 3. Next "Villain" is Sokolov [and the "High Table"] or ISAC?

My hopes are that Faye Lau is revealed as a double agent within Black Tusk; as in, she's loyal to SHD but infiltrated Black Tusk to unravel the conspiracy from the inside. Or that she's genuinely Rogue but finds out how ****ty Black Tusk is and returns to the Division. Or that there's a touching final cutscene with her to show just how broken she is.

I don't understand why people want SHD to be revealed as a bad guy and that our Agents have been fighting for the wrong side. Because the vast majority of what we've done during the games is protect innocent civilians and fight psychopathic, murderous terrorist factions. How is doing that being on the "wrong side"? If The Division itself has been manipulated, then who would be the manipulators? Who would manipulate The Division and its Agents to do good? From what I know, all we've seen of the Division is that it, ISAC and the Agents are true to the Division's stated purpose; restoring order to communities suffering from catastrophic events, institutional collapse, and societal breakdown in order to ensure the continuity of government. When have we ever done anything to directly impede this?

As for our enemies, all I've seen of them is ruthless evil. This includes the Black Tusk, who are ideologically driven by their view of a new world order and are perfectly willing to kill men, women and children (according to the wiki) in pursuit of this. This is reflected in how the Black Tusk often appear in Civilian Execution encounters in the game.

I'm just wondering...if the Division is on the "wrong side" despite all we've done for the greater good, then who exactly would be the "right side"?

I just realized that it might be interesting if The Division is true to its cause and true to the greater good, but was always meant to fail so that the conspiracy can have Black Tusk appear more palatable as "saviours". I think there's a recorded conversation between Kelso and Ortega wherein they discuss something like this. In any case, this would make Faye Lau switching sides less shallow because it'd mean the conspiracy is succeeding. It would also give us as Agents a way to "one-up" Black Tusk and the conspiracy even more. I made a meme to demonstrate, I apologize for that! https://i.imgflip.com/4x6iif.jpg

Aside from our agent's tendency to ruthlessly kill all enemies, including high value targets with potentially valuable intelligence data, nothing suggests to me that we are fundamentally the bad guys.

However as Theo Parnell suggests, the Division is not separate from the political shenanigans in the American government, or what's left of it.

It's possible that our good intentions have been diverted away from the big threats by corruption at the top, leaders who are happy to keep us occupied clearing control points, rescuing hostages and taking out some of Black Tusk's more visible operations from time to time. Meanwhile, the big conspiracy plays out elsewhere?

My hope is that Fay is brought to heel and while injured, lives to tell us what she learned from her association with Black Tusk and who their real paymasters are; also where Sokolova fits in.

The implication is there's still plenty more people higher up the food chain for us to go after, although President Ellis seems to be no more than a convenient tool for other people behind the scenes. Perhaps if we squeeze him a bit he'll reveal some new intel and a new location.

I hope it means lots more content!

I hope it means lots more content as well!

About the fact that we ruthlessly kill all enemies including high value targets with potentially valuable intelligence data...while that is true, I would say it can also be explained by simple game mechanics. It's much, much easier to design and code a system where you just hunt down and kill enemy NPCs than it is to design and code a system with variation such as ways to non-lethally take down enemies as well as high-value targets being in possession of information that changes the battlefield and the Division's and the JTF's tactical plans. A new type of mission where you actually have to take down a target non-lethally using special equipment or ammunition in order to interrogate them for information would be really interesting, though. By the way, have you done the Bardon Schaeffer Manhunt? I have not, but I know how it ends.

I hope we find out more about Sokolova, Black Tusk and more about how the Division factors into everything!

I just hope they don't introduce a villain that is oging to **** off until division 3 and have you deal with them in a paid expansion of said game

I just want to to arrive at some epic location in an overly dramatic fashion, have an epic standoff with Lau, we both drop our guns, I play my "Bruce Lee" emote and we scrap it out martial arts style.
