With control zones you have Territory for animals, any animal assigned to territory will as fast as it can move to that area (you can set the control zone to square or oval and alter the size length / width / height.
Once the animal gets into the control zone it will then carry out it's normal routine - it will not stop and attack until in that zone (that's how I see it) one thing to consider with animals and control zones once they are in that assigned zone I believe they will not cross back out of it so if the player runs beyond the zone the animal will want to attack but won't leave the zone (play around and do a test)
Remember that in Explore Mode enemies do not see you, also in Bounty Hunt we can sign animals to be Targets but NOT Fish or Birds.
An attacking animal o the map will attack anyone unlike in far Cry 4 where a Hunter enemy close by made animals neutral so there is a chance an animal could kill A.I. and trigger further spawns / waves.
