🛈 Announcement
Greetings! The Division forums are now archived and accessible in read-only mode, please go to the new platform to discuss the game

I had a level 40 hardcore character. I killed it off on purpose to make a 4th character to run raids with. There was nobody left to play with and they never did anything at all to make the mode more interesting. It could have been survival 2.0 but losing all the gear upon death is what kept most people from playing it. You should have been able to keep what was in your stash at least for a new character.

I still play survival and its tons better than 90% of the content in TD2(IMO of course) and way better than HC mode, which is basically just the game with a little extra added nerves added into it but mostly those come from fear of getting killed by one of the many bugs in the game than actually being killed by the npcs.
I will never understand why they pulled a "Destiny" and scrapped all of the good parts of TD1 from TD2 just to start over. They made TD1 knowing there was going to be a TD2 because of the way the story ended. I don't understand why they didn't just continue where TD1 left off and make TD2 an expansion. They could have let us use our old characters and had us do the heli crash thing to justify us not having our gear and weapons. Tell us we start at level 1 again because we have to build up a "reputation" and learn the new city. Yet let us travel back to the old NY where we can play TD1 content without having to have both games installed. They would have let us keep the fun of the old DZ and gear, yet build on the game in DC with new stuff.

Imagine if The Division worked like a World of Warcraft and they just keep adding onto the game, new maps, new DZs they would just be a Heli ride away. NY, DC, San Fran, Chicago, ect.

yup that would be awesome, but unfortunately it wouldn't be as profitable, so ubisoft wouldn't approve. who knows, maybe that's what happened

Then why does it still say beta? Are the Devs really so lazy that they can't be bothered to remove that word from the game?

Quality of life things like a chest that worked for all of your hard core characters like in the main game. Maybe keep credits or crafting stuff when you die. Something that makes you want to do things to make leveling easier the next time around. Better yet at least make it to where you can turn off all the tutorials so when you have to start over it doesn't feel like you are being held back by the tutorial at the start.
I enjoy hard core mode on other games because the work I put into my first character makes it easier to level my next character. For example one game I can keep a high level weapon or piece of gear with a leveling enchant/gem. It also makes you really not want to die with that leveling item on you, or just keep credits so I can buy gear to keep my gear up to date from venders. As it stands right now there is no real reason to play hard core other than the fear of losing your character.
Heck even the main game has no real reason to make an alt, at least with hard core I would level alts so if I lost a character I would still have a max character left.
It was their response for the Survival players. At the time it sounded like a misdirection while players waited on new content.

They pulled the "Destiny", cause they was hoping to steal the fans. When this was released, there was a few that kept wanting it to be more like Destiny. Which
