It would be nice if they would touch hard core mode and make it better.
Quality of life things like a chest that worked for all of your hard core characters like in the main game. Maybe keep credits or crafting stuff when you die. Something that makes you want to do things to make leveling easier the next time around. Better yet at least make it to where you can turn off all the tutorials so when you have to start over it doesn't feel like you are being held back by the tutorial at the start.
I enjoy hard core mode on other games because the work I put into my first character makes it easier to level my next character. For example one game I can keep a high level weapon or piece of gear with a leveling enchant/gem. It also makes you really not want to die with that leveling item on you, or just keep credits so I can buy gear to keep my gear up to date from venders. As it stands right now there is no real reason to play hard core other than the fear of losing your character.
Heck even the main game has no real reason to make an alt, at least with hard core I would level alts so if I lost a character I would still have a max character left.
I wish they had brought back survival mode from the first Division. That was so fun battling the elements and keeping the virus at bay while you try to find a cure in the DZ before you fight hunters to escape. I don't know why they didn't bring stuff like that back. If I thought the devs were able to make large changes to the game I would love a true survival mode in hard core. Food and Water meter, one that isn't too annoying but is there to remind you that you need to gather stuff, maybe gives you a buff for damage and damage resist if you keep the meter full. Settlements that need supplies to live, a new mission for control points where you have to escort groups to get food and water. If their food and water run out they get taken over by a random faction.
The problem is, one I don't think they have the budget or the team to revamp and two I don't think the gaming engine can do what we really want it to do. For example the control points, they should have made it to where if the control points run out of supplies they get taken over but we have to reset our game to have them taken over for some reason.

(And yes at the moment in hard core, there is no reason to play hard core other then the fear of losing your character. You can't use the stash, each character has it's own credits, crafting, ect. We would be better off just playing normal mode so things count for our main and deleting our new character when we die lol)
it will never be touched again by the devs. I guarantee they havnt given it a second thought since its release but that shouldnt be surprising, even TD1's Survival only got one update after its release and i dont think it was anything but fixing a few bugs. I still play survival and its tons better than 90% of the content in TD2(IMO of course) and way better than HC mode, which is basically just the game with a little extra added nerves added into it but mostly those come from fear of getting killed by one of the many bugs in the game than actually being killed by the npcs.
Because you want to play the mode? That, and getting the 500 patchOriginally Posted by SuicideHero793 Go to original post
