Slowly but surely and quietly Ubisoft is nerfing the raid. Please return radio ops to base locations. And return motorcycle patrols to raid.
No one needs raid easier than it is. Raid was already far too cheesy and arcade to the point we needed to create an entirely new style of no gear and tactics lvl 1 raiding.
Removing the bike patrols has made the raid dramatically less fun!
People who raid continuously want more patrols, more radio ops, more snipers, more more more.
Not less!
I've played far less since it's nerfed and no bikes, perhaps that's the goal. Make it not entertaining.
I agree. Raids on critical are not a challenge with a decent group and removing removing content does not really help in making the game more challenging. This game is rated PEGI-18 and I feel like UBI tries to make it easier for age group 12-16 to play raids...
It puzzles me why you would remove ability to bring helicopters which allowed players to travel faster around the island but then make the effort to guarantee jungle as the safest place in the raid.
I wish instead of such minor, irrelevant changes and live events promoting UBI's other game, developers could introduce another raid or different bosses.
Side notes:
In addition to the above there is massive lack of end game content in Breakpoint with only single raid and repetitive items. I wish the game would have class sets that players could collect that would make classes:
a) more relevant in raid
b) could offer unique boost to each class
Most of class skills are useless for boss fights when they should not be.
On top of the previous comments of making the raids easier, Ubisoft... you need to work on FIXING WHAT IS BROKEN STILL!!!! Random disconnects, base bugs, invisible enemies being able to kill you without ANYONE being able to see them (aka invisi-wasps and breachers) still run rampant throughout the game. The same bugs that were given error codes before still exist but they just move to a different error code, or dont even get one anymore! Raids, unfortunately, are boring... and even more unfortunate... signify the end game.
Make it possible to craft the gear/weapons PLAYERS want rather than RNG spamming the shop.
Ubisoft, we know you have at least had the intention of doing this since gear is dismantlable and gear parts from boots, pants, chests pieces, etc. can be accrued over time. Same with the weapon parts. Anyone who has spent 10 minutes in the shop spamming RNG purchases using skreds will tell you that after a point even the shop bugs out and it will disconnect you from the game. If there is concern about crafting extremely OP gear or one-sided gear for PVP.... categorize the gear as "Custom" and restrict it like you do grenade launchers. Better yet, ADD WEMOD TO BATTLEEYE's RESTRICTED PROGRAMS LIST.
I appreciate the game for what it is. Whoever like previously mentioned, Yes the up and coming younger generations are playing this game, and you want to get them to play more, What about the loyal girls and guys that have been here sense the start. Do we not deserve the challenge we want, the excitement of figuring out how to accomplish the goal, have a challenge, and continue to be challenged.
Instead we find BreakPoint lacking in many area's, The disconnects, bug that have been here from the start, We like new content, we like the challenges provided, As a community several groups have found ways to make the raid and regular game play harder, because we don't feel challenged anymore, And after we get the challenge back , You all as a company decide to take things away, remove fun and interesting features, instead of fixing the issue.
I understand the bottom line and company's needing to make a profit , Don't you think you'll make more in the long run with Happy consumers, rather then irritated, grumpy old men and older gamers. I for one have been gaming in one way or another for over 30 years.
I enjoy the challenge and the new developments game developers create, please pass the challenge onto us, and stop giving us the challenge we desire then taking it away, because the younger generation who do not appreciate what you have created.
As a Ghost Recon Fan, a beta tester and a long-time breakpoint player. I saw the promise of Breakpoint, I read the hype and then I watched as during Technical tests and beta testing it became apparent that the game was changing from what it should have been to what it became. The game as released was a shadow of the difficulty and experience that was originally envisaged. You finally introduced the raid to what was originally a favourable response but you have to acknowledge that it has problems. Then you released an easier raid as 'Low Threat' the regular raid is unchanged and then the critical threat raid. .
Ubisoft, from the bottom of my heart, believe me when I say this. Your raids are NOT in any way hard enough. As 'The Hand' says we have to play it with no skills, no perks, and low-level weapons to make it even challenging enough to be worthwhile playing it for a challenge. Why did you remove motorcycle patrols? why is there not a larger wolf force on this island. Why is it so boring and predictable? Critical raid modifiers don't add a significant level of difficulty. We want an ultimate raid, triple the numbers of Wolves, Make the Wolves have a response team that actually goes into the areas where the mission intels and checkpoint sites are. Randomise the threat response mechanics to make it harder. Please ,please ,please make the raid worth playing again..
I can appreciate that critical has recently been added, but in all honesty it doesn't change up the raid gameplay all that much and without rehashing the valid complaints above, here's some other things needed to be looked into IMHO:
* An overhaul of enemy A.I, specifically, co-ordinated squad behavior to make the player regret messing with the enemy. Metal Gear Solid's attack teams is an excellent example - they would co-ordinate a strike team to flush you out and thanks to their weapons, armour and shields, were fearsome to engage as a solo operator. Not just wolf attacks after being spotted by the Azrael either, but patrols and bases too.
* Unit placement in bases are predictable, even down to unit type in many cases. It's especially bad with hack/defend objectives where you can block off or pre-mine certain areas with precision.
* World clipping that prevent you from escaping. If you get stuck in a rock and can't move, why can't it just "push" you out to the nearest movable surface?!?
* Bizarre issues that lead directly to squad wipes like Gargoyle coming into the center and facing NW instead of N (I think I've got those directions right?), or Quantum's panels not allowing you to hack them
* Un-troubleshootable error messages. E.G. "Raids are not available" now replaces "Mountain 15", and this error is despite the fact the rest of my team (some of whom from the same country or region), is clearly still in the same session despite them NOT having stable/reliable/low latency Internet connections (such as ADSL2+ vs FTTP)
These are some of my biggest bug-bears that I could reasonably see being plausible enough to fix. Raids, especially critical ones, should be challenging. Instead, you've got at least one niche dedicated community making up their own rules like Level 1 characters with the lowest stats possible and no skills/perks defeating the critical raid in pistols only and no HUD because of how predictable the game is - and frankly the only thing standing in their way is their sessions being marred by wipe-inducing glitches and desyncs. ⛰️⛰️⛰️⛰️⛰️⛰️⛰️⛰️⛰️⛰️⛰️⛰️⛰️⛰️⛰️
