Or to put it in FH devs' lingo: is Eclipse 'balanced'? Leave aside the obvious disparities between the characters, and estimate the game mode's elements and dynamics.
Personally I vote for "not at all". Two reasons:
- Ballistae - clearly an overkill. I see FH as a close combat game, and, therefore, the ballistae as a form of cheating.
- Draconite - I don't see why FH decided to introduce this element in the first place (as if the Warmonger is not dirty enough); again, because of this, close combat will lose it's meaning
- the Scythe - necessary for the Draconite, yes, but several things don't make any sense: virtually impossible to defend against, too high damage values. Wielding it is also strange: just the basic moves allowed, no locking on. Taking only low damage from the boss, yet high damage from the regular characters - why? Also, why doesn't using the Scythe require any stamina - being a large weapon as it is?
IMO, just the bosses (without the ballistae and the Draconite/Scythe) would have been more than enough.
If FH created this game mode to show how they plan to 'balance' the game in the future, then it goes to show yet again that they have no idea what they're doing - or just don't care (which is probably even worse). However little faith I had left in their ability to make the game better, it is severely shaken now.
