    Too difficult

I find that this game is far too complicated to play ,maybe it's because I am 79 years old but still and avid gamer.
There's far too many gadgets and player inputs to remember how to use them all.
I simply cant follow the story line and make progress through the game because by the time I work out which control/ key to use I'm killed off.
It's OK just wander around and have a few skirmishes but it's all too complicated for this old fart!!!.
Sniper Ghost Warrior Contracts is a far more user friendly game .
This game is in the " use only when nothing else is available " basket.
Just as well I got it on a " weekend special " price of $15 otherwise I would be rather annoyed.
Can't wait for Contracts 2 to come out.

Well if you find that having too many items or abilities are a pain then scour through the ones you enjoy playing with and disregard the rest. Tweak the game to your likings. I myself rarely use drones unless forced to by a mission. I tend to try to play it some what realistic by limiting a lot of super powers.

    +1
RODH1 you don't have to follow any of the story or missions if you choose not to. Free roam, ambush some convoys etc. If you get more comfortable with the rest fine, but you can use the game however you like. Pretty much what I do. And regarding the storyline, it isn't worth wasting your time to understand. I've been playing the game for a year and the story line isn't any more logical to me at this point.

Good answer Steven527 I will do as you suggest and try to learn a few tricks so I can wreak havoc amongst a few outposts convoys etc.
Nothing to lose by having a go I guess.

Yeah, the best part of this game is just roaming around shooting bad guys. I rarely use a fraction of the silly perks, items, abilities and other nonsense in this game. Just find a couple of guns you like and start popping bad guys... and try to stay alive... best done via... Shoot, move, repeat.

The only thing you may need early on, is syringes which will heal you up if you get shot. Have those equipped on your item wheel for quick access (shown in the bottom left of your screen). Everything else in that wheel is optional... add a new item to your repertoire ever now and then. But at you own pace.

Thought i was old playing at 59! Well done to you.
Once you have got used to the Game, it becomes easier, and the Missions are Poor anyway, the worst part of the game.
At present i have a profile with just a pistol and close quarter combat. And i mainly just Hunt, and taking Bases randomly.
Though have not played of late, as playing Wildlands, with my Brother.

Yeah, the brilliance of this game is that you can play it however your like, at whatever pace you like. No need to rush. Just start with the smaller patrols until you are comfortable with the controls, then move up to outposts etc.. Level up your specialization/class to get skill points quicker, invest in the skils that fit your play style.

Just pay attention to your level/gear score and the recommended gear score for an area (if playing with gear score that is). When not playing with gear score all is fair game.

I find 'Resistance' is really fun to play too because it adds faction warfare (more targets for the enemy isntead of just you) and gets rid of overhead helos and azrael drones.

and set the syringe to the 9 o'clock position (it is the default active consumable slot). You'll find it prevents accidentally tossing a grenade when you wanted to do something else.
