Hi everyone!
So this idea came to my mind randomly a day or two ago, however it's probably not original, I just don't know if anybody else wrote about it or not.
Whit the recent updates in the past the devs clearly made some efforts to improve the already quite satisfying customization system in For Honor. They even made comments about these improvements (no attacker/defender colors, removable paint patterns on old heroes and the recent bookmark system) in the patch notes. They also claimed that they are continuously "searching" for new options to make the customization better. BTW, I personally appreciate their efforts because I really like to experiment with new looks for my heroes (knights especially).
So why not take the customization a step further and give even more freedom to the players when making a great-looking hero ( after all, "you cant fight good until you look great").
So what is this "customizable color palettes"? It is a system which allows the players to create their totally unique colors.
I think it could work like this:
Each color palette has 3 segments (primary, secondary and tertiary color) and the players could use a RGB (RED GREEN BLUE for those who never met with the term before) based color mixer to create a ton of hues. If you, for example want a fully black palette then you can just apply/create black 3 times to make your palette.
Economy wise (because the devs need money to support the game) to finally make a palette you should pay 225-300 STEEL (75-100 for each segment) for it per hero.
I understand if this would need more time to develop than it may seem, and it would make the color palettes and multiple outfit colors in the game obsolete (more or less) so I'm not sure how to implement it. Regardless I really fancy this idea.
Thanks for reading, have a nice day!![]()
Maybe you are right, but if we take into consideration that I suggested to charge 300 steel for each palette per hero than I think it would generate a good amount of income.
Just think about it, let's take my case as an example. I main Lawbringer, so I have 3 loadouts customized. That is 900 steel if I want to make my unique colors for each loadout. I also play Warden, Black Prior, Gryphon, Valkyrie, Kensei and Orochi quite frequently, and I would like to make special colors for all the loadouts. Together with my Lawbringer loadouts that is 7200 steel in total just spent on colors and I didn't even mention that I change one or two of my loadouts a in a month because I like experimenting. If the devs require more money than they can add additional loadout slots for each hero as well.
Of course, if this system is to succeed and be fully functional the devs would need to remove all colors from the game (but with this system we could easily recreate them) except the starter color of course. It would be a tricky thing to do.
