So, I played this game for 7 hours without any problems and now it crashes everytime after 10 minutes playing.
I tried reinstalling the game. I even tried to install the game on a different drive. I tried reinstalling Ubisoft Connect.
I though maybe it's a virus, so I tried like 8 different virus scanners to remove virusses.
I also verified the files troughout Steam. I also did not overclock my pc. I play the game on borderless settings.
Nothing seems to work.
Can someone help please?? It's really annoying and I really want to play this game.
Well I don't think it's hardware related because I played it with no problems first and I didn't change anything.
Well, I changes to "borderless" instead of "fullscreen" to check if it fixes the problem
But here are my specs anyways:
Motherboard: GIGABYTE GA-Z77X-UD3H-WB WIFI
CPU: Intel Core i7-3770K
RAM: 4x8GB Corsair Dominator Platinum DDR3 1600MHz
GPU: ASUS ROG Strix GeForce RTX 2080 SUPER OC
Display: Iiyama ProLite G2773HS
Sometimes the latest drivers aren't the best solution for an older game and this game can be sensitive to Nvidia drivers, for instance there were a couple of releases last summer that would crash forcing people to roll back to drivers from May ..... I have a 2080 Super Seahawk X hybrid watercooled GPU but I'm running 460.79 drivers however I haven't really played Odyssey much with them to verify ....
Which area are you playing right now so I can go in and see if I'm stable in the same areas ..... You caught me at a good time because I'm just finishing up a run through a highly modded Skyrim playthrough so I have some spare time to do some testing while I decide what game I'm going to immerse myself in next (It won't be Valhalla or CP 2077 until they fix most of the bugs)
I'm docked over at Pilgrims Landing which is not too far away (And is your next stop) and I banged around there for an hour or so but didn't have any issues except one false start after re-installing my Mods which got reset when they reset the Connect App to finally give me back my Club Rewards a week or two ago ..... I haven't really played the game that much since I upgraded my system because shortly after I upgraded I won the last two pieces I was missing from the store so I haven't had any incentive to do weekly events ..... I have everything cranked up to max except Volumetric clouds which are down a notch and I have Depth of Field turned off because I don't like it, I didn't pay 500 bucks for crisp clear high resolution graphics at 1440p just to intentionally make it blurry ..... The game looks fantastic and the FPS is above 60
Since I can't really play and record Valhalla or CP 2077 because both are so damned buggy I'm thinking of recording a Kassandra playthrough even though it means having to do extra processing because the NVENC codec is messed up right now and the recording contains the wrong header color depth information for YouTube ..... The Header says it's using the full color spectrum (0-255) when it's not (It's actually 16-235) so when YouTube converts it everything is too dark and the contrast is screwed up so I have to run every video through FFMPG in a command console window so the header information is corrected for YouTube which isn't all that hard and only takes a couple of minutes to process but it's still a PIA ..... It's been driving me crazy for a couple of months because the videos look fine on my computer but on YouTube everything is so dark and over contrasted .....
I need a little more time to confirm it but you might need to downgrade the drivers, I've stuck with 460.79 because they've been stable even in my 350 Mod Skyrim build I have about 160 hours on with only 3 unrepeatable CTDs ..... My motto is if it ain't broke don't try to fix it which is why I only upgrade drivers when they address a bug in a game i'm playing or I get a new game that needs new drivers ..... Those were the Game Ready drivers for Cyberpunk and I haven't had any reason to upgrade them since they haven't been an issue for me so far .....
OK I played for about an hour with no issues at all (other than I sucked in a Conquest Battle) .... I sailed from Pilgrim's Landing in Phokis over to Megaris sinking a couple of pirate ships on the way, grabbed a contract on some renegade Spartans, took down the fort to fulfill a contract on 3 Athenian resource crates, went over and killed the leader to trigger a conquest battle and then fought the conquest battle ..... I'm editing and uploading the video to YouTube to test the latest release of GEForce Experience that supposedly fixes the YouTube dark video issue so it should be available sometime tomorrow. T the end of the video I show a bunch of Rare and Epic gear pieces that are collectables with special names that I have stored on the ship
What I would recommend is downgrading to the 460.79 drivers and before you do I'd suggest running DDU (Display Driver Uninstaller) in the Safe Mode to scrub out the old files and Windows Registry entries and then do a clean install of the 460.79 drivers which have been stable for me and I run a dual monitor setup, one is a 32" 1440p 60 Hz and the other is a little 7" display that I use to monitor CPU, GPU and memory without the need for an overlay which are often problematic in some games .... I've also ran a VR headset with these drivers without any issues

I just wanted to update you .... I started a new playthrough and I did everything on Kephallonia and am just starting the quests in Megaris and I haven't had a single issue and I'm also recording the playthrough ......
My main issue is my internet service keeps disconnecting me trying to upload to YouTube ..... In fact I just ordered a new fiber service tonight that will be installed Friday morning and they are picking up the penalty charge for the final 2 months in my contract ..... Just the fact the upload speed go from 50 mbps (In reality less than 30 mbps) to 500 mbps should make up for the 7 bucks more internet, TV and phone costs me per month .....
